This is just incredible. We already have about 150 signups at the next Central Brooklyn DSA meeting on July 31. We had to move to a bigger location! Our goal for this meeting is to get people familiar with some of the other work we are doing and hear from area-of-work leaders.
Last weekend, we joined @nycDSA's volunteer appreciation day to celebrate the thousands of members—old and new—who knocked on doors, made phone calls, and organized day after day for our victory in the primary. Onward to November and beyond.
When my nana worked for the Food Stamp Program in East TN, she refused to disburse benefits to sundown towns until they took down their lynching billboards. Feds got called in to resolve the issue and upheld her demands. Billboards went down but the lynching goes on. Why lie?
Everybody makes fun of rural MAGA people who are scared to go to NYC, but I find the opposite phenomenon to be far more prevalent. So many coastal liberals think it is physically dangerous for gay people and black people to step foot in 75% of the country.
