It was an amazing visit to Kyoto University and Ogoshi lab! A wonderful week and some strong memories :) thanks Tomoki for the amazing experiences @OgoshiTomoki !!!
Great to have Prof. Chenfeng Ke (Washington University in St. Louis) at Kyoto Univ. as a Zen-ichi Yoshida Lectureship IOCF speaker. Thanks Chenfeng, super cool 3D-printing materials based on supramolecular chemistry!
Binding hydrophilic molecules is challenging due to high hydration energy. So why not bind them with their water? Our work (the Cai group at USF and us) shows a flexible proline cage capturing fluoride along with its hydration shell with strong affinity. nature.com/articles/s4146…

Abstracts are due by April 2nd. Submission link is here: pacifichem.org/scientific-pro…. Hope to see you in Honolulu!
Interested in polymer #3Dprinting and beautiful tropical islands? Join us this December at Pacifichem for the "New Frontiers in Polymeric Materials and Methods for 3D Printing" symposium, organized by Chenfeng Ke (@ChenfengKe), Tao Xie, Luke Connal (@LukeConnal), and myself.
[ISMSC2025 abstract submission deadline] The abstract submission site of #ISMSC2025 is open. Those who wish to submit a paper are required to submit the Abstract by 23:59 of February 28, 2025. We are waiting for your submission! Please see details in: ismsc2025.com/abstracts.html
Very sad and shocking to hear the news. Fraser is a great scientist and dedicated mentor. He has boundless energy in supporting younger generations. You will be missed, Fraser!
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sir Fraser Stoddart, Nobel Laureate and cherished member of @NorthwesternU. His groundbreaking contributions transformed the field of #chemistry and inspired countless scientists worldwide. ➡️ bit.ly/stoddart-in-me…
Our latest collaboration with the @Gassensmith lab shows the value of taking porous materials in new directions, and the importance of creating new structures. Congrats to Yalini (@yaliniwijesund2), Niyati (@NiyatiA30), Ryanne (@RyanneEhrman) and everyone!

A beautiful example of organic cage with affinity for carbohydrate leading to controlled delivery of #insulin
NNC2215, an insulin conjugate with a glucose-binding macrocycle and a glucoside, creates a glucose-sensitive switch that reversibly responds to ambient glucose levels, potentially reducing hypoglycaemia risk in diabetes treatment. nature.com/articles/s4158… #NBThighlight

Chemists are always in awe of what nature can make, but we do not always make exactly what nature makes. In this @J_A_C_S paper, with change of just one carbon - from CH2 to C=O, a pseudo-polysaccharide could achieve both facile polymerization and depolymerization.#glycotime
