Regarding Stephen Colbert — Carson produced a show for the country. Letterman’s show often felt like a inside joke. I LOVED both. Modern shows, too often, feel like they’re producing shows for the coastal critics approval, hoping the @NewYorker heapes praise.
Long before the world knew that Cosby was an unrepentant rapist, this was a great and iconic TV show that many of my vintage watched regularly. Theo was a great character. May Malcolm-Jamal Warner rest in peace. 🙏
