What do we make of @dianemontagna and her bombshell report about Traditionis custodes? I offer my thoughts, and throw away the word limits, we're going deep today. kmtierney.substack.com/p/the-beginnin…

When I say in 2016 people gotta move past Vatican II and stop acting like it matters today people get upset. Bishop Varden says it in 2025 and everyone going he got a point here. Im not bitter, I love it. To those mad I said, soon I will be the least saying it.

This is wrong because it doesn't align with lived reality. The majority of priests and faithful in the Ordinariate were coming from Anglicanism. The majority of priests and faithful who celebrate the TLM also celebrate the Novus Ordo. This might have worked.... in 88!
Pope Benedict XVI understood that in order to make it possible for Anglicans to convert to Catholicism and keep elements of their patrimony intact, he would have to set them up with their own ecclesiastical jurisdiction. He knew the Novus Ordo bishops would ferociously persecute…
My Sacred Heart Major Seminary teaching contract was terminated by Abp. Weisenburger this week. I have retained counsel. Except to offer my prayers for those affected by this news and to ask for theirs in return, I have no further comment at this time. Prof. Edward Peters
Opportune time to shut down his beatification inquiry.
The late Father Pedro Arrupe, the former leader of the Jesuit order and a candidate for beatification, was aware that a Jesuit candidate for the priesthood had a history of sex-abuse complaints—but was ordained, court documents in a New Orleans case show. ncronline.org/news/jesuit-le…
So online.
The Democratic National Committee will target MAGA voters with ads about Jeffrey Epstein in a dozen GOP-held House districts at the start of the August recess, Axios has learned. axios.com/2025/07/25/dnc…

That the Archbishop is essentially bribing both to not litigate and not provide a reason implies the Archbishop understands transparency is dangerous for him
Ralph Martin and Eduardo Echeverria both confirmed to the Register that they've been fired from their posts at Sacred Heart seminary in Detroit. Echeverria said he was given no reason, and Martin said he'll have a statement forthcoming. ncregister.com/news/ralph-mar…
Hulk Hogan was equally the savior and destroyer of professional wrestling. A singular example of someone whose legacy cannot be downplayed, no matter how ugly it is. OTOH, he did destroy Gawker, so who am I to judge?
Because it focused on actually being a good and satisfying game and none of the nonsense features of modern gaming?
I wonder why
Dudes rock
I have this thai ex coworker who just texts me beer deals he sees at asian grocery stores
Your regular reminder Senator Hirono might be the dumbest individual in Congress, and we have several in advanced cognitive decline.
WRECKED. Hirono: Has any court said that DEI is unconstitutional? Yes or no? Hamilton: Yes. Hirono: Which court? Hamilton: The United States Supreme Court. Hirono: I disagree with you… Hamilton: You can go read it yourself. 🔥🔥🔥
All these universities settling with Trump. Almost like they knew they were always violating civil rights law but thought they'd always have either Democrats in power or Republicans too afraid to act.
This has nothing to do with the conclave, and everything to do with trying to convince everyone (maybe even Leo himself) who he owes his office to. If he was clearly Francis "choice" it wouldn't need to be said months later. Nobody argued over if Benedict was a "JPII choice"
ROFL. This reminds me of the stuff that said John Paul II's final word was "amen" as the crowd finished the Rosary outside his window. This is clearly after the fact QB'ing.
I was there when Francis said that. As he finished saying those words, a dove flew into the office and stepped on the US and then Peru on a globe they had on a desk. It was beautiful.
He does realize that altar girls was not vatican II, and only came about through papal toleration 20+ years after the fact, right? RIGHT?
In the past year or so I've had many conversations about the reformed liturgy and the TLM (or Vetus Ordo), and I wanted to put some of my thoughts out on the table here for discussion. 1/17
