@CardsMax
I travel the country buying sports cards.
As someone who only has a passive interest in marketing, it’s incredible how many people are outright awful at it. If you hype up an announcement you HAVE TO live up to it. Otherwise you destroy good will with your audience and deserve all criticism. Prevalent everywhere.
What do you think the overall percentage of liquidity repackers provide for card dealers?
Comfortably over 90%. Whether people know it or not, most cards they sell are sold to someone who sells to a repacker or is within 2-3 degrees of separation from a repacker or something similar
for every Aaron Judge there’s 99 Jac Caglianones where the players mediocre or Rome Odunze where no one cares enough to keep their market supported
Not sure about those odds Alot of players cards are up since last especially if no recent sales of a particular card
Listening to all of Paranoid, Master of Realty, Vol 4, and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath today out of respect to Ozzy
Everyone loves to complain about repacks without acknowledging that they’re the main reason cards are as liquid as they currently are
Something most people don’t understand: If an offer is based off the most recent comp, 9 times out of 10, I promise you the card has legitimately decreased in value.
Repacks are only as shady as the people making them. Strong and trustworthy brands are perfectly capable of building repacks with value and integrity. We don’t build any repacks, but if we did, we expect that our loyal collectors would trust that they were done right.
BREAKING NEWS: On most of the cards I have for sale, my asking price is higher than the price I paid
like @CardsMax said repacks are fine and a consistent part of the industry. I buy em from time to time because I too like to gamble. I'm saying making a product in Fortnite fonts where your audience reaches kids specifically to scan the fuck out of them with fake ass ...
hey @SaratogaSlabs it’s going to be sent in like 15 minutes it’s no big deal
This card in a PSA 10 is a floor card in a $299.99 repack. This shit is worse than most repacks I've seen jfc. the transparency here is they're going to rip you off to your face directly and gaslight into telling you this is worth "45% of the pack price"
Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to go prep cards for my PSA grading submission.
PSA being the McKinsey of Repackers is certainly an interesting pivot for them though

Whatever. My tweets aren’t fundamentally anti PSA. Its that any assertion of expertise is insane. Being a repacker curator is probably one of the most integral but unappreciated occupations in this industry.
Your math professor might be incredibly good at math but that doesn’t make them knowledge in history just because they’re a professor. PSA is math professor teaching history.
