My first ever voice over gig was actually in Japan. I was a student and came across an ad looking for native English speakers to help record the listening sections for area wide English exams for all the local schools. I answered the ad..and actually booked it!

So excited to start a new day career this fall! Double the pay, full benefits, paid holidays. No more side hustles or juggling multiple jobs—just one role that supports me so I can pour more of my heart, soul, time, and energy into my dreams 🥹🎙️

Voice actors!🎙️ Respect yourself and your time. You are valuable and so is your time, so if someone clearly doesn’t respect either of those, then don’t give them the time of day. 3rd time I’ve experienced this. Someone genuinely wanted advice on how to get started in VO..(1/2)

‼️Reminder to please vet your coaches‼️ If a coach hasn't worked in the industry in a long time, you can't find any of their previous work, OR if a demo reel is offered at the end of a workshop as part of a "package"... You should probably look for a different coach.

I studied abroad and lived/worked in Japan for 2 years. I still study and work towards fluency, and even have a weekly tutor 😆

If I were to host a VO workshop where all proceeds went to benefit families from the floods in Texas would people be interested? I would still keep it affordable, or even pay what you wish. I am going to do my own research but would also love reputable donation recommendations!

Even if you don't book a job, there's still a chance you'll be kept in mind for later. If you keep showing up and putting solid work out there, people will remember you ❤️
