Excited to share my promotion to Clinical Associate Professor @UCalgary and @CalgarySpine! This past 2.5 years in academic medicine has been deeply rewarding. Grateful to my colleagues, mentors, and patients who’ve supported me on this path in #spinesurgery, #endoscopy & #ERAS.

Congratulations to @newton_cho our superstar spine fellow on winning the “Best Poster Presentation Award” at the @AOSpineNA Fellows Forum this past weekend in Banff, Alberta!

Dr. Ken Thomas completed his 2-year term as the President of the Canadian Spine Society @spinecanada. Under his leadership he has taken CSS to new heights. Dr. Thomas passes the torch to Dr. John Street who will be the new leader for the next two years

Congrats Abdul Al-Shawwa who won the Debbie Scarlett Award for Best Paper for a med student/resident @spinecanada meeting. He is a 1st year medical student @UCalgaryMed. His study on Advanced Imaging in Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy was supervised by Dr. David Cadotte. 🙌

Congratulations to Dr. Ru Raj, our clinical fellow on winning the Best Fellows Abstract at the @spinecanada meeting. 🎉🙌🙌 His project on #ERAS program in Spinal Surgery was supervised by @MichaelYangMD.

We launched our Calgary Endoscopic Spine Surgery Program this week! 🙌 We are now able to offer ultra-minimally invasive spine surgery to Albertans. We hope to create a center of excellence for research and to help train future 🇨🇦 spine endoscopists. @yyc_health @UCalgaryMed

We hosted orthopedic and neurosurgery residents across 🇨🇦 for our 17th Annual Spine and Peripheral Nerve Anatomy and Surgery course last week. It was a resounding success, Thank you to all the Faculty and industry partners for making it happen!
