There was an enormous sense of pride amongst our community, as the CUNY School of Medicine MD Class of 2027 received their clinical white coats last evening. The Clinical White Coat ceremony provides a moment of reflection as the class transitions into clinical practice.




The CUNY School of Medicine healers, leaders, and scholars celebrates our MD Class of 2025 Commencement Ceremony. They will fulfill their mission to become doctors and guardians of community health. By eliminating barriers to medical education, we deliver healthcare for all.




CUNY Medicine inducted students, alumni, residents, and faculty into the Alpha Ωmega Alpha Medical Honor Society last night, where they recited their oaths in unison. We thank Peter Bates, MD, and Denise Maybank for reminding us of the essence of becoming a physician.




On May 6th, CUNY School of Medicine held its Gold Humanism Honor Society Induction Ceremony, recognizing medical students, residents, and faculty who exemplify compassionate, patient-centered care. We thank everyone who helped make this event possible.

Yesterday, CUNY School of Medicine was honored to welcome NYC Council Member @EricDinowitzNYC, representing the northwest Bronx and Higher Education Committee Chair, to see that we are producing the healthcare professionals New York needs, and whom New Yorkers want to see.




The Sisters of Sophie hosted their annual Black Women in Medicine Panel last night. Six panelists, four of whom were alumni, shared with our students what led them to become physicians, and emphasized the importance of community. We thank them for making this a memorable event.




CUNY Medicine welcomed @NYSenatorRivera today and showed the Senator what makes our public medical school unique. From our 7 year accelerated MD program, to our dedication to student success, CUNY Medicine is producing the healthcare professionals that New York wants to see.



Today, the Committee on Higher Education held an oversight hearing on the new @CUNYMed to hear about the school’s challenges and successes during their transition to an independent institution.
