The Panthers hired Benjamin Brown as their Director of Data Science, per his LinkedIn and confirming sources. Brown joins the Panthers from PENN Entertainment where he was the NFL Data Science Manager. He previously worked for SumerSports and PFF.

I think the Gus Malzahn, Thomas Castellanos move may have been one of the best decisions Mike Norvell has ever made. Definitely a quick fix that could save his job and get this program back on the train tracks.
I trust Will Stein because he is a great offensive mind, but I am also very interested to see the offense with Dante Moore who does not have the success/experience that Dillon Gabriel or Bo Nix had coming into Oregon

Looking at end of year 2024 offense/defense SP+ ratings vs. where they stand before the 2025 season. Essentially right = should be better on defense, up = should be better on offense. FSU/Michigan/Oklahoma hit some efficiency lows so just regressing to the mean is an improvement

I too am updating my 2025 preseason power ratings for the month of July. They use a consensus win total from various sportsbooks. Penn State is technically number one but that entire row is separated by less than 0.4 points
