Girvan needs investment, ⁦@UKLabour⁩ and ⁦@ScottishLabour⁩ are delivering but we need the SNP to unlock the economic potential of places like this.

Following my surgery in Girvan yesterday I went along to the Summer Cosy Spaces event at the Girvan Community Garden with @ElaineStewartMP followed by some doorknocking around the town.

Trip to see the new creative hub on Barhill Road, by @CumnockMensShed and @NestWellbeing The charities raised over £450k to renovate the space, an inspiring collaboration which will be a great spot for local artists and makers. I look forward to its opening in early September.

Under the SNP, record numbers of Scots are spending their life savings or being plunged into debt to pay to get the care they desperately need.

We were out talking to voters in Cumnock today. Cuts to the NHS and other public services are top of the list of concerns for the people we spoke to and they can’t wait to bring an end to SNP rule at Holyrood. #scottishlabour #labourdoorstep

Party members and friends attended the Before and After The Coal photographic exhibition at the Baird Institute in Cumnock followed by a cup of tea and a viewing of some artwork by a local community group at Barhill Community Education Centre.

There is no doubt Reform’s destructive rhetoric is popular among a significant part of the electorate. I will be standing in Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley next year not to demonise those without a voice but to defend the hard won freedoms and services we all built together.

Under the SNP, Scotland’s NHS is stuck in the past - relying on pagers and fax machines. Analogue John doesn’t have the answers. It’s time for a new direction.

Violence against women is so often ignored by our society. Every man who has murdered his partner started with other acts of domestic violence. Not enough is being done to prevent this behaviour in young men.

From our NHS to our education system, the SNP is responsible for so much of what is broken in Scotland. Next year is a chance to choose a new direction with Scottish Labour.

This tired SNP government is out of ideas and Scotland is paying the price.
