NJ Coalition for Affordable Hospitals
@C4AH_NJ
We are a coalition of unions and advocates committed to protecting access to affordable, high quality healthcare for New Jersey. #AffordableHospitalsNow
New Jersey needs healthcare accountability now! Thank you to Assemblywoman Peterpaul (@DonlonPeterpaul) for cosponsoring A5376 and helping to advance the bill out of AFI last week! @NJAssemblyDems @32BJNewJersey

The New Jersey Coalition for Affordable Hospitals is deeply saddened by the loss of Kabir Moss. His impact on the coalition was profound, and he will be dearly missed.

The time is now to take action to address New Jersey's healthcare affordability crisis, we cannot afford more band-aid solutions or temporary fixes. We are calling on the Legislature to pass A.5376/S4299 before the end of the legislative session.
Our coalition was born out of similar rate hikes in 2023, which did not come close to what we're seeing now. New Jersey cannot continue down this path. As health insurance premiums outpace wage growth, working families are taking home less and less each year.

Yesterday, the State Health Benefits Plan Commission announced drastic rate hikes for NJ's public employees, underscoring the urgent need to address the root causes of New Jersey's healthcare affordability crisis.

Healthcare costs are outpacing wages & it’s taking a toll on working families across the state. A5376/S4299 will set enforceable cost growth benchmarks to keep health cost increases in line with wage growth & put $ back in the pockets of working families. youtube.com/watch?v=LanRtB…
"Actuary Recommends Double-Digit Increases for All Plans – 36.5% Increase for SHBP-LG, 29.7% Increase for SEHBP, and a 21.0% Increase for SHBP-State" New Jersey is in the middle of a healthcare affordability crisis. This is not sustainable.

High and rising healthcare costs are impacting hardworking people all over the state. By enacting A5376/S4299 and implementing cost growth benchmarks, we can bring down healthcare costs and put money back in the pockets of working families around NJ. @32BJNewJersey
A5376/S4299 will provide New Jersey with the tools it needs to enforce federal price transparency rules and hold hospitals accountable for unsustainable cost growth, easing the burden on working families across New Jersey. @NJSPBA youtube.com/watch?v=q_wzHc…
People often delay or forgo care due to the fear of medical debt, at the expense of their health. Hospital price transparency requirements in A5376 will pull back the curtain, to alleviate some of those fears & allow individuals to make informed decisions on where to seek care.

NJ families are being crushed by rising health care costs and it’s only getting worse. That’s we need to pass A-5376/S-4299 to create a watchdog commission that will hold the health care industry accountable, stop unjustified rate hikes, and protect public dollars.
High healthcare costs are eating into wages, impacting employer budgets, and driving up state and local taxes. New Jersey needs to pass the Healthcare Accountability Legislation now to bring greater transparency to the industry and address the state’s affordability crisis.
