🙌 A lovely review of one of our excellent local shops, These Two Hands, on Sandy Park Road. bristol247.com/lifestyle/shop…
“Families must have access to local school places and not be forced to go on lengthy school runs.”
🏫 “Ensuring that we have school places where we need them, when we need them, is essential. Every child deserves the best possible start in life, and that shouldn’t be down to a postcode lottery.” bristol247.com/news-and-featu…
Local schools are in danger of being closed under new council plans. Hengrove and Whitchurch Park could see two schools close despite 2500+ homes being built. Clearly, this makes no sense. Sign our petition today to protect our local primary schools! bristollibdems.org/news/article/p…
💧"The Liberal Democrats have led the way in demanding tougher action against sewage pollution, soaring bills, and bloated bonuses for water company bosses.”
Following the Lib Dem campaign to end the sewage scandal and clean up our rivers, the Government is finally replacing Ofwat with a tougher regulator. But, more must be done to ensure that our water bills are brought down and that our waterways are clean for future generations.

The application to redevelop the former John Peer site on Bath Road is now validated by planning officers & is on the council’s planning portal. Check it out and leave your comments. The application reference is 25/12961/F and it can be viewed online here: pa.bristol.gov.uk/online-applica…

❓If the government admits that First Past the Post is unsuitable for mayoral elections, why does it intend to keep it in place for general elections? Thank you @sarahjolney1 for raising this issue in Parliament. Whatever the election, FPTP is not fit for purpose.
The SEND system urgently needs fixing, but Ministers mustn't use that as an excuse to balance the books on the backs of disabled children. The government cannot continue to ignore the voices of SEND children and their families. We urgently need a new National Body for SEND.
We are pleased to see revised proposals submitted to the Local Planning Authority. When the application appears on the council’s planning portal, members of the public can view the plans and make comments. More details here: sng.org.uk/working-with-u…
The BBC are constantly bending over backwards to please Reform. I fear they're becoming a mouthpiece for Nigel Farage, a guy who wants to destroy them.
📚 A great opportunity to head down to our local Wick Road Library as the annual Summer Reading Challenge has now begun. news.bristol.gov.uk/press-releases…

A year after the most disproportionate election result in history, and the new government has done next to nothing to improve our democracy and restore trust in our political institutions.
@BristolCouncil The City Centre Promenade is starting to look better, but why were these now redundant hand rails left in place? It looks rather silly. 🤪
It’s been 97 years since women won the right to vote on equal terms with men. Despite nearly a century of women being able to vote and therefore being able to be elected, I am only the 643rd female MP to ever be elected. I was pleased to join fellow women MPs in Westminster…
The enormous floating reed beds in Bristol Harbour are not only looking magnificent, but also improving water quality and creating wildlife habitats. 🦢
Your childish fixation on flags, rather than focusing on adult social care, the SEND crisis, protecting libraries and swimming pools, etc, is quite astonishing. It’s clear RefUK have nothing to offer except divisive and wasteful culture wars. #ImWithMonica
Who really runs Britain? A coup has taken place in Warwickshire, where the CEO of the council has effectively declared themselves the monarch of the county. She has refused, point blank, in writing to take down the Pride flag and told our Council leader the decision as to which…
A quarter of a million people have put their name behind our campaign for House of Lords reform. Agree all parliamentarians should be elected? Add your name: action.electoral-reform.org.uk/page/3342/peti…
It’s your precious Brexit that has made us poorer, and not just economically. Sit down and let the adults deal with your mess. #BrexitHasFailed
