Awkward as they say. Also, @realDonaldTrump says @Keir_Starmer is a “tax cutter”. Should have stopped off at Aberdeen @Specsavers

This may seem terribly technical but shows what ongoing good work the UK National Screening Committee does. Up to 50% of women have some dense tissue in their breast so this is vital. @BreastCancerNow nationalscreening.blog.gov.uk/2025/07/18/fee…
Well done @Siobhain_Mc on this. I know you’ve put your heart and soul into this. Good things do happen.
In memory of my sister Margaret, we launched a Glioblastoma drug trial. Now, Margaret’s Trial is open on the NHS - and offering real hope. Ben, diagnosed with a Glioblastoma in 2022, saw his tumour vanish. His story helped make this happen. Watch here:
Who knew? What would be really good journalism would be to understand whether this, like the welfare ‘reform’ Bill, was part of HMT’s spending review numbers or part of a sensible department led piece of work open to whatever the answer might be.

📷 @WesStreeting and @AshleyDalton_MP visited Harlow where @UKHSA will build a new National Biosecurity Centre to: 🔬research dangerous diseases 📈boost growth 🛡️protect UK national security This major investment will make the centre the largest of its kind in Europe.
Most of the country is warm and sunny (where it’s basically July/Summer!). Meanwhile at @TheOpen the @RandA seek out the hair shirt of wet, cold, bleak venues. It tests resilience against the elements more than it tests golf. It’s @TheMasters every time for me!

This sector plan was due weeks ago. It contains some necessary and important proposals but in the words of @ABPI_UK “they are not enough to turn around the UK's decline.” Above all, it’s deeply regrettable it’s been imposed without VPAG agreement the PM promised to “sort”.
The UK’s life sciences industry is worth over £100 billion and is a powerhouse for our economy. Our new Life Sciences Sector Plan will implement a new strategy to drive growth, track progress, and deliver better healthcare for everyone.
Absolute petty spiteful madness on the part of @Keir_Starmer especially over @RachaelMaskell who is one of the MPs saving this PM from himself. As someone who knows what it’s like to lose the whip, this is a sign of weakness not strength. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
