I see baptists make this “joke” regularly (I don’t think they are really joking) It’s a terrible objection because it implies the “those far off” or “as many as God will call” somehow undermines the “you and your children” when all it does is confirm the extent of the promise.
Quoting the latter half of Acts 2:39 (“and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself”) does not invalidate the first half of the verse (“For the promise is for you and for your children”). It does not undermine the covenantal argument at all.
