For decades, universities have given themselves over to the repudiation of their own cultural inheritance. That was a choice. Schools that have the courage to make different choices have a real opportunity to do something special.

I lived in Chicago from 99-04 (River North then Norwood Park) and I thought then and think now that that was an incredible time to be there. It’s still probably my favorite American big city in the summer but much of the magic has been lost and that’s just not my nostalgia.
