So far our first re-sighting of a Scolt Head ringed Mediterranean Gull pulli 2133 at Snettisham beach today, along with a few other CR birds seen, along with the usual bundle of colour ringed Black-tailed Godwits @_BTO @NENorfolkSufflk



Monitoring Ingoldisthorpe todays resulted in 37 birds, which included: 1 Kingfisher 1 Cetti's Warbler - juvenile 14 Reed warbler 3 Sedge Warbler 6 Blackcap 5 Chiffchaff @_BTO @N_Rivers_Trust @northnorfolk_cg

Ever wondered where the North Norfolk breeding terns go after fledging? South? Nope, up north, so far 7 juveniles from Scolt Head seen at Beacon Ponds this month. @_BTO @NENorfolkSufflk @northnorfolk_cg

Monitoring Deepdale Farm today resulted in 42 birds, with not so many summer migrants, just - 4 Blackcap 3 Chiffchaff 1 Lesser Whitethroat 2 Whitethroat One of the juvenile Blue Tits had some feather pigment issues! @_BTO @DeepdaleFarm @BurnhamDeepdale



Monitoring Sculthorpe Moor today resulted in 36 birds inc. Blackcap 1 Chiffchaff 5 Reed Warbler 3 Sedge Warbler 11 French ringed Sedge had switched to another area of the reserve, plus a new Juvenile Marsh Tit @_BTO @sculthorpemoor @wvbs1
Monitoring Ingoldisthorpe today resulted in 49 birds, 9 of which were at the site previously. 43 Warblers of 5 species with quite a few juveniles now around, as shown by these Sedge Warblers - adult left and juvenile right, then the other way around @_BTO @N_Rivers_Trust


Yesterdays visit to Blakeney Point to ring Little Terns resulted in only 4 new birds receiving colour bands, and few birds seen other than eggs and freshly hatched young, leaving us wondering where were all the expected late aged chicks? @_BTO @northnorfolk_cg
Monitoring Sculthorpe Moor today produced 31 birds, 24 Warblers of 6 species including another juvenile Grasshopper and a French ringed Sedge Warbler. @_BTO @sculthorpemoor @wvbs1 1/2
Today more time on the project to confirm foraging areas for the Dersingham Bog Nightjars, as most feeding happens away from the breeding area. We managed to retrieve a fourth tracker and deploy a fifth. Undertaken under licence in conduction with NE. @_BTO #Nightjars

Monitoring at Ingoldisthorpe today resulted in 22 birds - a good mix, which help ZSL obtain samples from 13 birds as part of their research into Usutu virus. All samples taken under Home Office licence. @_BTO @N_Rivers_Trust @northnorfolk_cg

Scolt Head yesterday: 128 Sandwich Terns, 83 Mediterranean Gull and 112 Black-headed Gulls were fitted with colour coded darvics. Report sightings via iceni.shinyapps.io/sightings/ @_BTO @northnorfolk_cg @wvbs1

More Marsh Harrier project work resulted in a further three chicks ringed in North-west Norfolk today. This brood of three males, which the project is looking at male v female survival rates @_BTO

Afternoon visit to Dersingham resulted in retrieval of one tracker from a Nightjar, one nest was occupied by the male, hopefully the female is okay, he was 9 years old, ringed in 2016, and we missed the third bird. @_BTO #Nightjar

pm visit to the local Fakenham Water recycling plant to ring two Oystercatcher chicks - C14 & C15 hopefully to be seen on an estuary near you soon. @_BTO @wvbs1 @AnglianWater

Monitoring Sculthorpe Moor today resulted in24 birds, first young Blackcap and Sedge Warbler, and proof that Grasshopper Warbler bred on site with a fresh juvenile too. Plus, another juvenile female Kingfisher. @sculthorpemoor @_BTO @wvbs1
