How could patients on antifungal prophylaxis still get infected by “susceptible” fungal strains? We try to crack this puzzle with a 5-year patient and mycobiome dataset from @MSKCancerCenter and 219 fungal genomes from three continents. 1/n nature.com/articles/s4159…
Delighted that the final version of our Candida parapsilosis outbreak + MLST creation manuscript is out now in @LancetMicrobe! doi.org/10.1016/j.lanm…
Candida parapsilosis lives on the skin and causes an increasing number of nosocomial outbreaks. How does this pathogen move within and between hospitals? How can we quickly detect their spread? A 🧵from our recent preprint.
Thanks Amelia for having me here! Such a nice visit at Jena😊
It was my pleasure to host @BingZhai for a seminar and hear about her work on the mycobiome as a source of infection!
Such an elegant piece of work!Congratulations Jianfeng🎉🎉
🥰Happy to have this piece of work published on Nature Microbiology. 👍Thanks to my mentor Dr. Filler for this relentless support and our dearest collaborators. Please read the behind the story here: communities.springernature.com/posts/the-suga… .

3rd anniversary of lab & Final acceptance of a manuscript 🎉 How would a mycology lab celebrate? Mushroom hotpot 🤣🤣🤣

OUT NOW 👉 Pan-drug resistance and hypervirulence in a human fungal pathogen are enabled by mutagenesis induced by mammalian body temperature 🍄🌡️💊 By Jingjing Huang, Linqi Wang & colleagues nature.com/articles/s4156…
Excited to share that I'll start my lab @GeiselMed as an assistant professor in July 2025! We will build a hybrid lab that focuses on microbial metabolism & human gut microbiome. We're hiring at all levels. Especially seeking experimental microbiologists for the wet lab work!
We found that anaerobiosis limits growth of Candida in the healthy gut, but disruption of anaerobiosis by antibiotics drives an intestinal bloom. Pharmacological restoration of anaerobiosis using drugs that stimulate epithelial oxygen consumption prevents this bloom.
I am happy to share our joint work with @cliao345 and Ana Djukovic from @MSKCancerCenter on what detection of oral bacteria in fecal samples actually means! 1/n nature.com/articles/s4156…
Our collaboration with Prof. Yang-Yu Liu @yangliu61 is published in Nature Communications! We proposed a data-driven approach to predict and understand the colonization resistance of microbial communities, and performed validations in the gut microbiome. doi.org/10.1038/s41467…
