Same swag as Caribbean or West African culture, we just speak English so it's more palatable 😭😭
Our culture is as beautiful as any other. Take pride in your heritage, not in its profitability.
She gets it 💯
Like it’s just capitalism, why are you proud you make white people money??
I’ve never seen the two as mutually exclusive, how can I be proud of my Afro-American heritage but hate the continent my ancestors came from, love the country that has tormented us for centuries, and place no value on the source we’ve drawn on for our cultural distinctiveness.
You a damn fool if you think me being a Pan African means I'm not proud of my African American heritage.
I would start with explaining what we see in our daily lives. We witness racism daily but most of us don't know what we're looking at. Which makes us susceptible to causing self-harm in our reaction to it. Songs like F the police are nice but didnt teach us how to deal with them
Well, what would you rather the culture project unto itself from high places to replace what we see in our daily lives? As a starting point.
You a damn fool if you think me being a Pan African means I'm not proud of my African American heritage.
Is racism not practiced globally? Have you ever seen the Chinese president wearing Chinese clothes? Do even Black Americans not spend millions on European, cars, designer clothes and food?
Black Americans didn’t colonize the world though so if that’s the case wouldn’t White American culture be the most emulated culture?
If Black American culture’s worldwide appropriation is simply based on merit and has nothing to do with American imperialism.. How come non-American Black people like Rihanna, Drake, The Weeknd become just as famous when they enter the American market?
This waaaay more advanced than text.
These Artifacts were use to narrates history, most of them serves as pictures of the ancestors of those who made them, including the ones in your villages.
The “Dean of African American Composers” William Grant Stills symphony blended blues, spirituals, and classical melodies. He was a very significant figure of the Harlem Renaissance who worked alongside Professor W.E.B Dubois and Paul Robeson as close friends. Folk Suite No. 4.❞
Justice Department told Trump in May that his name is among many in the Epstein files wsj.com/politics/justi…
Diaspora wars are funny because everyone is arguing in English 🤭 🤭
Exceptional as in achievement based on merit
What you mean by ‘special’?
Sinatra, Bing and Perry is BA “culture” too. How do you think Quincy Jones got his start? Also why are we bragging about white people stealing from us? When did we consent to British bands using our sound? I recall many black artists like Lil Richard being UPSET about this.
But why did the world choose Black American culture instead of White American Culture which was also exported? Why did British rock bands choose black to emulate Black American blues/rock n roll instead of Frank Sinatra/Bing Crosby/Perry Como?
You are delusional if you (for example) believe Black Culture is so “loved” that Koreans decided Fried Chicken was something they just happened to like after trying out diff cultures... The Korean War brought our culture there. Kpop is them mimicking what BA soldiers listened to
Our Culture Is Emulated Because It’s Loved By Everyone, America Didn’t Colonize The World Lmao America Started As A Colony Itself Of The Mfs Who ACTUALLY Colonized The World.
