No PhD? No problem. Albert Ghiorso, Class of 1937, was born July 15, 1915. With a Cal BS in Electrical Engineering, he was hired at @BerkeleyLab to create instruments to detect nuclear decay. Working with Glenn Seaborg, he ultimately co-discovered a record 12 chemical elements.
