With all the rumors swirling around, will the Padres actually trade Dylan Cease before next week's deadline? We discussed it earlier this morning 👇 📺: youtu.be/5DmaXh2y7cI

Jimmie Johnson, a Southern California native, says he is going to be working hard to have the San Diego race on his schedule next year. But if it doesn't work out, he will absolutely be there and supporting the event.
Old man Charlie Morton 3.60 ERA in 80 postseason innings. Cease 12.91 in 7.2 IP.
Padres have talked to the Orioles about Charlie Morton. So maybe the plan is to add a starter like Morton if Cease is dealt for other assets.
Here’s some of what I heard and saw today at USD for Chargers Training Camp:
It feels weird being here at @USDToreros Stadium for Chargers Training Camp. I haven’t covered a single practice or been to a single game in more than 8 years. I’ve been talking to a mix of fans — many from out-of-town, some from San Diego who kept supporting the team.

It may not have looked like much, but that was a sneaky really good 2-1 win for the Padres. On the road, against one of the hottest teams in MLB, against a nasty pitcher, overcoming a bunch of infield singles and a pretty awful home plate ump. Job well done.
Congratulations to Philip. I was fortunate enough to interview him dozens of times for radio and television, and he was always terrific. You could genuinely tell how much he cared about his teammates.
Philip Rivers announces that he is retiring as a Charger.
Stephen Kolek will be activated to start tomorrow and fill the Padres’ rotation vacancy. He’s in Miami on the taxi squad.
This is an incredible San Diego view on Point Loma I’ve never seen before in person. Tonight on @10News, I’ve got some yet-to-be announced details on the NASCAR race reportedly coming to NAS North Island (behind me) next year.

Padres, with 3 All-Star relievers, are even looking for a reliever. Also considering a bat (LF, possibly catcher) and a starter. Always aggressive!

Add a "Throwing the ball from right field Derby" to the Home Run Derby at the ASG. I'll watch Tatis and Acuna all night long.
Matt is a true storyteller and gifted broadcaster. It will be a treat to have him in studio!
Honored, excited and a bit of a dream come true to be sitting in for the great @thestevenwoods tomorrow on @BenAndWoods (6-10amPST). Can’t say I saw myself on the @Padres flagship station talking baseball, Open Championship and Fire Pit. (And my wife’s “job” might come up.)…
I would also love a giant baseball helmet of banana bread pudding for my birthday next month lmao happy early birthday @thestevenwoods!! @BenAndWoods
Tatis forgot his shirt. I hate when I do that.

Soccer transactions are complicated to be sure. I’m at SDFC training right now and will try to get more insight into a 1st-place club losing the MLS goals-per-minute leader at this stage in the season.
