Yankees hit possible new low in mistake-filled 8-4 defeat to 1st place Blue Jays
Diamondbacks, beset by bad luck this year, are nearly resigned to selling now. Eugenio Suarez, Josh Naylor, Merrill Kelly and Zac Gallen are all free agents, and talks will presumably start getting serious soon.
Marlins on the rise: Miami has won 8 of last 11 series vs 2 losses and a tie. Plus, they received back-to-back big starts by Edward Cabrera and Sandy Alcantara, who both raised their trade value.
All these many trade candidates haven’t move yet!

Phillies and Padres are among many teams interested in Kwan
Many teams are calling about All-Star LF Steven Kwan, but while the Guardians are listening on him (and their relief stars Clasé and Smith), understandably it would have to be quite a compelling offer. Cleveland also has a favorable closing schedule.
The Padres are listening on Dylan Cease, with the Yankees, Mets, Cubs and Red Sox among teams believed to have checked in. SD is a buyer but often listens on rentals. Major long shot!
Might need to start the ABS Challenge system in the middle of this game

Teams love Charlie Morton — who has a very positive postseason history and who’s been solid following a slow start — and he’s drawing a lot of interest on the trade market. Many teams inquiring.

nypost.com/2025/07/20/spo…. Mets agree: Bullpen is the biggest need now. Here are out suggestions of who to target.
Improving Marlins now looking to build around promising young players Stowers (1.332 OPS in July), Ramirez and Perez. Expected to listen on Cabrera, Alcantara, Sanchez, Bender.
As of today, the Twins are now seriously listening on their rental players, including Coulombe, Bader and Castro. While they will listen on All-Star starter Joe Ryan and star closer Jhoan Duran they’d have to be blown away, especially for Ryan.
Yankees, Mariners and Cubs are among teams to inquire on Eugenio Suarez, whose 36 HR leads the NL (and is tied with Judge, 2 behind Raleigh)

Amed Rosario would be a good fit for Yankees. Played a lot of 3B this year. .802 lifetime OPS vs. lefties (.845 this year). Suarez is top target but many would qualify as upgrades.
Luis Robert is drawing interest. While he just got over .200, he hits lefties and plays good defense. White Sox may have to pay $ down a bit. Change of scenery still needed.
