RIPTA just proposed service cuts to nearly every bus line in Rhode Island, eliminating 9 routes entirely. “We haven’t seen cuts this large in our history, from what we understand,” CEO Chris Durand said after today’s board meeting.
Some clarification on the number of bus routes RIPTA is planning to eliminate: 9 regular routes, 2 flex routes (zones where people can call for a ride), and 6 park & ride routes…for a grand total of 17
