I colour things in for a living and have a love of Shakespeare that knows no bounds. Always learning. Living & working in the city of Bath. Personal account.
I wonder what Bath BID think about their members having to find £1000’s extra each year for no good reason I do hope they will voice their opinion sadly more dictatorship by @bathnes ….@john_wimperis
CORRECTION: It was ̶9̶7̶%̶ 93% Bath firms that responded that did not support delaying the bin pickup to 6pm. Mainly as they would have to pay member of staff for an extra hour. UPDATE: The Libdems have responded: “There will always be a few businesses resistant to change".

BATH: LibDem Council allowances for 2024/5 including employers national insurance, pensions contributions and expenses = £1,160,831. Anyone not considering voting @reformparty_uk and some accountability of public spending needs to zoom in. @reform4bath
Retrospective planning permission means someone’s breached planning regulations or failed to know about them. Not knowing is no excuse. Retrospective planning permission should never be given. Likewise permission for previously unlicensed HMOs. Recently BANES approved a…
Retrospective planning permission shouldn’t be a thing, so many take advantage of it 😤
'The Lady’s curse is unnamed, whispered to her from the shadows. Maybe ours is whispered too — so embedded in culture we hardly notice. We’re encouraged to value appearance over intellect, compliance over independence. Her mirror showed her phantoms; ours show idealized bodies,…
There should be serious consequences for what Lib Dem councillors have done here. Is this only the tip of the iceberg? @bob_combedown still and always looking out for residents’ interests 👇
BATH: LibDem Council in more legal trouble. @bob_combedown states that councillors carried out work on listed buildings without consent - a criminal offence and then knowingly let them. Rectification could cost £200k per house. @Telegraph

But Cllr Guy said he would compulsory purchase the allotments.. but he knew it wasn’t an option, for Combe Down to lose the allotments is shameful on this @bathnes council
The landowner has refused to meet and find a mutually beneficial solution, including the council’s offer to purchase the land. bathecho.co.uk/news/community…
Spending others money on projects that exceed expected costs on things electorate don’t want. Need to just do their job. #DealingWithZealots
This Lib Dem administration must have introduced more waste contributing businesses and developments: street food stalls, kebab vans, takeaways, plus more street clutter where waste is left or blows away: parklets, outdoor eating etc. whilst totally failing to step up on the…

The accessible changing places loo in Sydney gdns needs a phone call to access, the one in sports centre isn’t available all hours centre is open. The one in Southgate needs a bell to be rung & temp ‘accessible’ portaloos at Xmas market are locked & bus station one gone now 🤯
Only 20 public loo sites for the whole of Bath & NE Somerset. Local? Ask your councillor if they're voting to sort out the out of date public loo strategy on Thu 17th. Contact them here - democracy.bathnes.gov.uk/mgFindMember.a… and read the Labour Group motion here - shorturl.at/W6Gdi
If nothing else, object on the grounds of the safety of children sharing narrow footpaths and crossings with cyclists potentially travelling at speed. Put: Objection to Scholars’ Way Proposals – Combe Down to St. Martin’s Garden Primary Section in the subject and use the email…

When will it stop? I'll tell you when. When tumble weed is the only thing on the streets and just the gnarly ones are left living in Bath's listed buildings, feeding off locusts and wild herbs.
🚨 Lack of transparency over Scholars’ Way plans A large number of concerned residents and members of the Bath community are calling on Bath & North East Somerset Council to immediately address the lack of transparency over revived plans for Scholars’ Way @bathnes…
Gilt rates are higher than they were in October 2022. Yet there is no media outcry or negative commentary from the @bankofengland. Britain's institutions are complicit in this huge economic failure.
This is a long tweet where I spell out my opposition to the pedestrianisation of key thoroughfares in Central London. The glee which some have shown at plans to pedestrianise yet another key thoroughfare in Central London is misplaced, in my view. Yes, a lot of people walk…
That's what they're trying to do & they'd have done it sooner if people hadn't pushed back. Their ideological agenda can only work if people don't understand what they're doing but they're being exposed & they don't like the light!
