I was an infantry soldier for 15 years. Contractor for 5. Normally a fiction writer/artist but I comment on the real world too. Aggressively English
Important to note this police overreaction is designed to intimidate and discourage further protests. It's not for the protesters there, it's for us watching. Ignore it, there aren't that many police and they can't show force like this over extended periods. Do not comply.
I think the message is clear from the Police, if you come for trouble, you’re getting nicked… I’ve never seen anything like it. The Bell Hotel - Epping
A lot of Brits who have known nothing but safety and security in the west are going to have to relearn the definition of "enemy" in the next few years.
Sometimes it's just easier to predict what's going to happen if you assume the government hates you. "We're going to arrange for terrorists who killed British soldiers to live on your street. But don't worry - we have a special police force watching you for any sign of dissent"
After RECENT EVENTS it seems like many of my followers/mutuals are in need of a good VPN. I used several over the years but @mullvadnet by far is the best. Very small/simple app, good track record w/no user data breaches, and you can use it totally anonymously with no email.
Sorry to interrupt your trivial middle class virtue signaling, but some savage beheaded a man in London yesterday. Do you think it might be something to at least raise in parliament? x.com/Basil_TGMD/sta…
Arrested over words just before a protest. The Police are the enemy.
🚨 Journalist and Activist, @JamesHarvey2503, has been ARRESTED this morning, right before the demo. They have arrested him for ‘racial aggravation,’ which occurred on July 21st. He allegedly called the migrants at the Brook Hotel ‘Foreign Filth.’
Resist censorship. Repeal the Online Safety Act.
My fellow Brits 🇬🇧 some helpful words if you don't like censorship: Settings and privacy Your account Account information Change Country You're welcome #OnlineSafetyBill
Seriously, an MP earlier today was defending this legislation. Every single claim she made here was disproved within 12 hours of the post
she really went 0/3 here. All 3 sentences shes completely wrong
VPN subscriptions through the roof in my country today.
🚨Our fears appear to have been vindicated on the very first day of the Online Safety Act's enactment. Some footage of protests taking place this evening against illegal immigration is unavailable on X for at least some UK users, with a warning about a restriction due to ‘local…
So much of DOOM’s soul is down to heavy metal, and without Ozzy and Sabbath, I am not sure it would have been the same. Certainly, I would not have been the same. Metal gave a voice to a whole generation of kids that didn’t fit in for one reason or another. It still does. RIP…
"White collar" policies for a blue collar world. With the assisted dying bill, the plan now is to work us until our bodies break, then euthanise us. Saves the government paying for medical care and pensions!
Government launching a review on pensions Age threshold may be lifted to 74. IMHO manual & blue collar workers should be left to retire at 66. The rest of us who enjoy the fruits of working from home or sit behind a desk should NOT draw pension benefits until 74 years of age!
Imagine how fucked a country needs to be for a political party to need to say this.
Reform UK will require the police to investigate all crimes.
Before I put my pen down for the day, I’ve come to a sobering conclusion: The internet has enabled millions of fragile people to weigh in on war as if it were a dinner party disagreement. “That’s inhumane.” “That’s a war crime.” “That’s genocide.” “That’s not right.” With no…
They’ve already claimed that it was an “accident”, which I’ll never believe. If they were targeting someone, they would have said so. This was an unjustified crime.
Hit my target weight (85kg) and took a week off as intended. Spent the whole week anxious to train. Can't wait to get back on it next week.
