Beautiful neuropath work assessing regional distribution of AD pathology and neuroinflammation in PCA! Love the fine details on CAA and microglia circularity, fascinating findings on the parietal cortex - congrats Zeinab, Keir and team!
Pathology of posterior cortical atrophy vs amnestic AD- featuring detailed characterisation of regional amyloid, tau and neuroinflammatory response onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11β¦ Led by @Zedzeinab @UCLIoN, supported by @AlzSocResearch @BrainAppeal - some key findings:
At #ADPD2025?? Go check today&tomorrow Sarah Basile at poster 174 on #amyloid-beta nitration and its role in fibrillation and #neuroinflammation in #Alzheimer. We would LOVE to hear your thoughts!

[1/x] The journey to preventing brain diseases is long... filled with internal battles, road bumps, and uphill climbs (both waysπ). As I begin the daily check on our @NIHAging R01 grant status, I find that apparently brick walls are also now a part of the journey.
Yaaaay! Today I got my first non-Dutch grant awarded by the Mayo Clinic ADRC for a two year project on β¦ π₯ amyloid plaquesπ₯³!
Wooo, what a Monday. Just enough time to swing by the lab for a photoshoot before racing off to the airport. I try to take every chance I get to share how beautiful the brain is and how fun science isπ€©π¬π§
Hasta luego @PuertoRicoPUR π΅π· I loved meeting your people and grateful to so many who shared their families' stories of loved ones lost to #AlzheimersDisease. ΒΏNecesitas ayuda? alzheimerpr.com @sanbenito
Neuropathology rocks!! Great keynote by @grinberg_t !
Big honor to give a keynote talk at the @HAIconference on ways neuropathology drives biomarker development in #Alzheimer. Grateful for the opportunity and the invitation! Looking forward to connecting with colleagues and the incredible discussions. @UCSFmac @alzassociation
Day 1 of @HAIconference (HAI) is off to a moving start. With our experimental year outside of Miami, @DrMariaALZ leads us with a message of hope. As HAI is a #biomarker and #neuropathology community of hope translating into clinical application π
So glad I finally made it to @HAIconference ! It was amazing to show our data, which would not be possible without the amazing collaborative infrastructure of the Mayo Clinic ADRC @NIHAging
Fantastic debut of @BaaylaB deep neuropathologic investigation of anti-amyloid treated brains. Masterful presentation and panel discussion π Great job co-chairing @relajoie π€ @HAIconference
The only appropriate role of a health insurance corp is to pay bills, not to manage care. The only appropriate role of an employrer is to pay employees and taxes, not to manage care. The only appropriate decision-makers in health care are patients and their own doctors.

I've noticed a troubling trend among PhD+Postdocs: fear of openly sharing research or seeking help due to worries that it'll lead to co-authorship & stolen credit. This distrust, fueled by toxic leadership/PIs, threatens the essence & collab spirit needed for scientific progress
I had a mentor who would collect lab journals on Friday and hand them back with questions on Monday. Improved my labjournaling incredibly!
