A charity providing reproductive healthcare, including abortion care, to over 100,000 women every year. We passionately campaign for reproductive choice.
Abortion is essential healthcare, and an unplanned pregnancy can happen to a woman at any stage of her reproductive lifetime. There should be no shame, and no stigma.
This is utterly horrifying. Please read in full and share widely: theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Following the law change in England and Wales, there's an even greater urgency for reform in Scotland. We currently sit on an expert group chaired by Scotland's Women’s Health Champion and recommendations will be published in the coming months.

Thank you to everyone who has fought alongside us. This is a landmark moment for women’s rights in this country, and we should all feel incredibly proud.

Nandi was coerced into taking abortion pills after the 24-week limit by a partner who lied about having cancer. She was prosecuted—until the judge recognised the abuse she endured. This is why we must decriminalise abortion. Ask your MP to support NC1 bpas-campaigns.org

MPs will soon vote on decriminalising abortion in England and Wales. No woman should face prosecution for exercising control over her own body. These laws are patriarchal and outdated, created when women couldn’t even vote. I do not consent to them. bbc.com/news/articles/…
TW:Baby loss Lauren was under 18 and isolated during the pandemic. After experiencing a stillborn she was investigated by the police for suspected abortion offences. Nobody should face criminal charges for needing reproductive healthcare. Take Action Now bpas-campaigns.org

Lena went to hospital after abortion complications. She returned home to find police searching her property. Criminalising abortion puts lives at risk. It's not too late for your voice to be heard. Contact your MP & join us as we lobby.

NC1 will bring England and Wales in line with over 50 countries — protecting women, not prosecuting them. “If passed, Nicola Packer will be the last woman prosecuted for an abortion.” – @ToniaAntoniazzi MP @MumsnetTowers. Ask your MP to support NC1 - bpas-campaigns.org

In Parliament, I spoke about the urgent need to change the law to decriminalise abortion in England and Wales.
Kirsty asked for help too late for local care and was referred nationally—but no appointment was available before the 24-week legal limit. Her pregnancy ended after the limit, and both she and her partner were investigated by police. bpas-campaigns.org

Ciara tried to access a legal abortion but no NHS appointment was available in time. She had a stillbirth weeks later and was investigated by police. No one should face criminalisation for pregnancy outcomes. Ask your MP to vote for NC1 bpas-campaigns.org
