🔭NGC7000-North America Nebula 🔭 An emission nebula in the Cygnus constellation at 1,700 ly away and 100 ly across, glowing due to the ionization of interstellar gas caused by radiation emitted by hot stars. astrobin.com/full/qb8blw/D/ #Astrophotography #Space #Astronomy #Nebulae

I started this project 4 months ago and it’s finally done. Here is my final image of the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy (M83) in HaLRGB. Telescope - TS Photoline 140, camera - ASI2600MM, integration time - 60 hours. Captured from Newlands, Cape Town (Bortle 7/8) #astrophotography #m83
🔭M51-Whirlpool Galaxy🔭Is located ~31M l-y from Earth in the constellation Canes Venatici. Overall is 88% the size of the Milky Way and ~400M y old. The companion galaxy NGC 5195, has been interacting for hundred million years. astrobin.com/full/gza49l/B/ #Astrophotography #Galaxy

The Lagoon Nebula, Messier 8, July 11, 2025, 4.7 hours, Moon was full at 99.6%. Captured with an Askar V at 270mm, 60mm + reducer; Svbony SV705C IMX585 camera; UV IR filter; Sky watcher EQ6-Ri; unguided manually focused. Very impressed given the full moon was at 36° separation.

After a week of a #SolarFlare drought, a newly-visible region on the Sun produced three solar moderate-sized solar flares last night! (Nothing super exciting just yet, but we’ll wait to see if more is to come) ☀️
Stephans Quintet is a visually arresting compact group of galaxies located in the constellation Pegasus. It's roughly 280 million light-years away from Earth, which makes it a distant, but still observable, celestial object for us amateur astronomers. #galaxies The group was…
Cygnus Loop imaged using Redcat 51 and @QHYCCD 268m camera. 10 hours of Ha-Oiii data. #astrophotograhy
Moon crater Clavius imaged with a webcam. It's also the crater where humans have an important facility in the film "2001 Space Odyssey"…

Very excited, last night, together with two colleagues from @astrosabadell, Joan Miquel (physics student), and Antonio Capapé, we were able to capture this interstellar traveler: 3I/ATLAS With the 500/2000mm telescope! Can you see it? #Astrophotography #cielosESA
Why isn't this ant a big sphere? Planetary nebula Mz3 is being cast off by a star similar to our Sun that is, surely, round. Why then would the gas that is streaming away create an ant-shaped nebula that is distinctly not round? Clues might include the high 1000-kilometer per…

Carina 🌌 This is a 'bucket list' target for many astrophotographers, but you'll have to go south to see it! The Carina Nebula lies in the Southern Hemisphere constellation Carina, about 8,000 light-years from Earth. For this photo, I had to polar align my portable star…
