For too long, the tradition of the Great British high street has been under attack from street crime and anti-social behaviour. It's time to respond. This summer, forces throughout England and Wales will increase targeted patrols in the town centres most at risk from crime.

Our policing partners are key to building safer communities. Last week, I joined @AssocPCCs and policing leaders to discuss progress on the Safer Streets Mission. We’re backing police to put more officers on the beat, tackle town centre crime and take knives off our streets.
