Understanding the disease triangle can help illustrate why there is minimal active gray leaf spot in this check plot. All three components must be present at the same time. In this case, the host is absent, breaking the cycle.

‘El Toro’ zoysiagrass behind Julian C. Miller Hall at LSU. No irrigation, no herbicides, no fertilizer for years. Just mowed once weekly. I’ve seen it eaten up with large patch in Arkansas, but it looks great as low-input turf in South Louisiana.

Talked to a rancher today and he said his cows moved to the highest point on his property, well away from water and stayed there about 4 hours before the flood. How do they know?
I dropped my kids off at camp today. It was a lot harder than it was last year. If you’re able, please donate to a disaster relief organization or to the Kerr County Fund cftexashillcountry.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/cre… It won’t bring their loved ones back but it will make surviving a little easier.
I do advise students of this… drop spreaders (with ryegrass) and backpack sprayers (with roundup) will tell on you!!
