Our thoughts on the RBA's potentially tricky period ahead with the shiny new monthly CPI from later this year. tinyurl.com/ba6259r9

Bullock playing down the significance of the June labour force report on its own.

We don't believe this is accurate. The data show the trough in quarterly rents growth occurred around the turn of the year and has increased since then. You gotta seasonally adjust... antipodeanmacro.pro/p/australia-cp…
There is new evidence that rental price growth is easing, potentially putting downward pressure on inflation and interest rates. ab.co/3TRIsHR
How about offering your "best" price initially instead of taking the piss? @EnergyAustralia

And the ABS will continue publishing the quarterly CPI, including seasonally adjusted measures, compiled on a different basis to the simple 3mth average of the monthly CPI. It could be a communications mess for the RBA for 18 months.
$AUD Australia will begin publishing a complete monthly measure of inflation from Nov. 26, addressing a long-standing gap in the nation’s economic data. The first figures to be released will be for October. finally.
Some thoughts on the weird June labour force report and what the Bank does with its forecasts. Tricky. tinyurl.com/3d4epesf

ONLY (NZ CPI) CHARTS #373 is out. tinyurl.com/232kbr4e

ABS will keep producing the quarterly CPI for a while yet as the RBA requires it. Why? Short time series for many monthly CPI components won't allow seasonal adjustment for a while yet, hence the monthly trimmed mean measure will still not by gold standard.
BREAKING NERD ALERT ... Date set for full monthly inflation data. The decades of the RBA being months behind on inflation trends finally coming to an end ... smh.com.au/politics/feder…
Also out today, Aussie firms still reporting that labour availability is still a big problem. Jars against the reported rise in the unem rate.

ONLY CHARTS #371 is out. tinyurl.com/ycym9dhz (Back with Aussie labour market later...)

An update. Punched in neighbour's address into the electricity retailer's website to see what rates are offered. Surprise!! Much lower than rates we were offered. Sent that info to retailer... ...and magically they have "found a plan that will save us money"! Do it.
Hello Globird Energy. This is a disgrace. @GlobirdE Goodbye.
