"Just a bit muddled" - avoiding saying "delirium" - doesn't cut it. It's unprofessional. Euphemisms don't help patients or families prepare or understand. Use the right word: DELIRIUM.

For many, #delirium has a long shadow. E.g. cognitive dysfunction may persist long after discharge: 40% have new /worsened cognitive impairment at 3 months 25% show effects at 1 year Many never return to baseline ➡️ Always consider the need for follow-up.
