Always nice to be mentioned by name in a news article! (Everyone has to call me the statistics from now on) cbc.ca/news/canada/br…

Biased sample of course, but is there any part of science twitter that is still active here?

If you ever want to annoy your grad school supervisor, you can change their article types to "Ancient Text" in EndNote

Too much to respond to here, but I encourage interested folks to read all three papers (links at bottom) and draw their own conclusions. But: 1. Data transformations matter 2. I never suggested they use model selection. Only used to demo "noisy" interactions. 3. n = 53, too low.
Recently, we received a response to Dickie et al 2024, with a number of critiques. Including that the effects of data transformation affected our results. They did not. /1

A nice little write up from our latest paper on mammals of the boreal. This paper was a long time coming, so happy to have it out in the world uvic.ca/socialsciences…
We can make literally zero progress as long as declaring something conservative is taken to mean “this is wrong or evil & has no merit.” & this is why people have started accusing the @aclu & @nytimes of being not just far right, but “neo-confederates” or their “dupes.”…
new conservative weapon

Can't believe it has already been four years since I graduated!

Christopher Hitchens died 12 years ago today. A sad personal loss but more importantly a loss for humanity. Each anniversary I try to remind myself of the mantra “What would Christopher do?”
I thought getting my paper out was the hardest thing. No, this was the hardest thing I have ever done: science.org/content/articl… I've been asked to look away, to let it remain in the shadows, but I am happy I put my foot down. Huge thanks go out to my supervisor @PerAhlberg1 !
We need to stop writing "in order to". Just use "to". Means the same thing.
Announcing my new book! The Anxious Generation: How the great rewiring of childhood is causing an epidemic of mental illness. It will be published March 26. Pre-order it here: penguinrandomhouse.com/books/729231/t… For a summary, see here: afterbabel.com/p/anxious-gene…
Technically any bird science where you look at birds is "see-bird" research.
