I really loved Justice Gorsuch's new book; hell, I wish I would've written it myself. Still, it left me saying "Yes... and..." Read my review for @thedispatch here: thedispatch.com/article/too-ma…
I feel like it's an under-appreciated fact that Justice Stone died literally ON the bench while reading his dissent.
The quickest U-turn in Supreme Court history followed a court opinion used to justify actual violence on American streets. @Anastasia_esq has the story scotusblog.com/2025/07/the-su…
I think about this Supreme Court line all the time: “Those who begin coercive elimination of dissent soon find themselves exterminating dissenters. Compulsory unification of opinion achieves only the unanimity of the graveyard.”

One Supreme Court opinion was followed by actual violence on the streets. And it led to the quickest U-turn in SCOTUS history. Need some legal history? My latest for @SCOTUSblog scotusblog.com/2025/07/the-su…
Greed is an irrevocable component of human nature. Even those who seek to not be greedy do so in hopes that they will gain in other ways like being seen as pious, earning rewards under religious theologies, or simply feeling good about themselves when they give. It’s still…

You: Complicated conspiracy theory about people who are secretly controlling things outside of democracy. Me: That's literally just the administrative state. We are not the same.

ICYMI from @Anastasia_esq: The real fight in Skrmetti wasn't about trans care—it was about judicial review. Plus: Texas will keep asking for IDs to view porn, a parental rights win in Maryland, and why universal injunctions are (mostly) dead. pacificlegal.org/judges-should-…

The dissent that broke a justice From @Anastasia_esq scotusblog.com/2025/07/the-di…
I’m so bored by simplified hot takes on the Supreme Court (by either side). Bring back nuance. Bring back good faith. Bring back an acknowledgment that law is hard & complicated & obviously diff than partisan politics. It’s easy to be outraged. It’s challenging to see nuance.
