I'm very organized
Ok, here’s an unusual post. There was no wind, and all these starlings were lined up chattering away, so stuck my camera on the tripod and filmed. 😄
Last day of our butterfly recce in Austria for @Mariposa_Nature: on our way to the airport we stopped at a service station, 4 hours later we were back in the car! Dryad, Scotch Argus, Map and Scarce Swallowtail - the Dryad was a lifer for me 😊
Lesser Black Backed Gull about to land on a farm building in my Somerset village. 😀🐦
Northern Gannet with a fish in its sights.
Brown Argus in the Heart of England Forest this morning. @BC_WestMids
A Common blue damselfly resting on a piece of heather on our local heath.
After tearing around the buddleia bush and having a belly full of nectar. This green eyed bee decided to take a rest on a buddleia stem.
After a couple of failed attempts previously, it was good to find 3 White-letter Hairstreaks this afternoon including this fresh individual.
Long-tailed Skua, Finland, June 2025. Another flight shot of this beautiful bird in a beautiful location. Never get bored of photographing these!!
How about some slow-mo Great White Egrets. Harty Ferry, Sheppey.

Highlights of day 5 of my butterfly recce in the Austrian Alps (Hohe Tauern): #1 was Thor's Fritillary, but we also saw lots of Scarce Copper and Small Pearl-bordered Frits, many much larger than in the UK; the mating ritual of a pair of Heath Frits was also great to watch.
A little Gem from my local heath the Small Copper Butterfly feeding on bramble flower head's.
