My circus my monkeys. Armchair investigating and advocating for clergy abuse survivors #IHOPKC and beyond. Many opinions, all my own.
How to shame a victim: - Ask why they waited so long to come forward - Insinuate they are going public for financial reasons - Demand details you are not owed - Insert your narrative of what they should have done to prevent or respond to the abuse - Sympathize with the abuser…
An example of a lie told today. Sean Feucht claims he was firebombed in a church (image 1). He boasts that they just kept worshipping anyways! One commenter is skeptical. What REALLY happened (image 2) looks more like he had a gender reveal party. Somebody tossed a smoke bomb…
An end times army… except it’s a mob of prankish raccoons. (Thanks for the tag @bethkiraly_ )
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If you were a victim of #KanakukAbuse in Texas and realized the scope of it from coverage or articles published more recently, you may be able to pursue civil litigation under a discovery rule (many other states also have discovery rules as well). Due to #KanakukFraud and ongoing…
THIS A church is not your ‘family’ or your ‘community’. It is a gathering of ppl whose allegiance to the pastor/church/rules determines your belonging. It’s not true friendship, it’s not genuine community. It’s conditional, and it can be lost in a moment.
I feel like I lost everyone. My whole community was in a church and a school they supported and I worked. Then the first domino fell. It was all fake. It took almost 10 months for anyone to know were gone.
Glad to see this kind of clarity & pushback from Canadian evangelicals regarding the Let Us Worship tour 🥹 "Most of us see that as conflation of faith and power..." Getting close to the heart of why Christian Nationalism fosters abusive leadership.
I don’t want to display credentials, but glad you’re not approved for Canadian platforms. You don’t understand CDN evangelicals—we’re not US Christian nationalists. Most of us see that as conflation of faith & power politics not to mention your wealth. Idols. Show humility first
After a year of comments about abuse, empathy & shielding abusive pastors, this is the one that got me blocked by Sean: "Guess it’s time you saw some strong women." Maybe the biggest threat to power is when survivors & women don't flinch, beg, or play the role expected of them.
When you’re more offended by men you perceive as “weak” than those who have completely abused their strength 🚩 And the best slur you can come up with is calling them “feminine” as though being a woman is inherently bad (or weak, for that matter.)
Hate to even share this but I’m sure many of you have already seen the ongoing coverage + the Roy’s Report article but if you missed, I am trying to hold them accountable for the “youth leader” they still haven’t held accountable themselves. And now I beleive they are trying to…
A former member is suing The Dwelling Place Anaheim, alleging church leaders enabled years of child sex abuse by a youth leader. The case adds to @vineyardusa growing abuse scandals. julieroys.com/former-vineyar…
Healing from traumatic memories is not turning the memory into a positive one-it's allowing the memory to be an honest one. It's allowing the emotions to be felt from a place of truth. That truth is what the people who are telling you to be positive want hidden.
There is a common denominator between domestic violence, spiritual abuse, and high control groups: Coercive control
