Taking on the Tories over their economic incompetence and ideologically driven cuts to our public services.
English politicians really need to get to know the UK better.
Has @ElectoralCommUK prepared guidance to ensure no political opinions are taught to student electors during the restricted periods before elections? Will teachers be charged under electoral laws if they are deemed to have put undue influence on students?
Another car crash interview from a representative of the Israeli Govt @DanielaGrudsky It’s time to end the war in Gaza and to end the aid blockage.
I welcome the announcement by President Macron that 🇫🇷 will recognise 🇵🇸 in September. This is an important contribution towards implementing the two State solution, which offers the only lasting basis for peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians alike.
I welcome this. One result of the unacceptable violence in Gaza must be the establishment of a Palestinian state.
"I want it, we all desire it, we all want it rapidly." Science and Technology Secretary Peter Kyle tells Paddy O'Connell he wants to recognise the state of Palestine as he called the situation in Gaza "intolerable" #Newsnight
I welcome Macron’s announcement that France will recognise a Palestinian state. I hope that the UK will now follow France and recognise Palestine.
Edrych ymlaen!

I agree with this. Its time for Netanyahu to go. Gaza and the whole Middle East needs peace.
We welcome the statement by the U.K. and 25 international partners calling for an immediate end to Israel’s aggression on Gaza. The time for “strongly worded statements” has long passed. Israel will not stop this genocide unless compelled. And it will only be compelled when met…

My mother came to this country, worked incredibly hard, paid her taxes, and died before being able to claim a pension even. And I was her translator. But I did wish she'd have been provided with one as an 8yo that had to attend all her appts with her. Why are you so disgusting…

Netanyahu has overseen slaughter in Gaza, the decimation of the reputation of Israel and the radicalisation of a new generation of terrorists. I hope more pro Israel voices will see what a disaster he has been not just for Israel but the wider world thetimes.com/article/9f7308…
This is appalling. It is without justification.

Nelson Mandela showed how one person can transform oppression, struggle & subjugation into reconciliation, social justice & unity. Change starts not in capitals, but in communities. On #MandelaDay, let's remember that the power to end poverty & inequality is in all our hands.
A bit like the European Union?
“The most basic function of this treaty is to act as a kind of operating system.” The treaty signed between Germany and Britain is designed to establish “as close a relationship as they possibly can,” says The Times’s @OliverNMoody. @WhippleTom | #TimesRadio
This is one of the most inspirational parts of life in Ukraine. The theatres are still open. Culture is still valued. Even when under attack.

Actually rejoining the EU and restoring freedom of movement would be far more effective. But we also need to think about the human tragedy of life as a refugee.
British people have every right to ask why their money is spent on asylum hotels instead of public services. That's why I agreed a groundbreaking pilot with France. For the first time, people who try to make the crossing illegally will find themselves back where they started.
This is pretty appalling. An unelected Peer telling our parliament what powers we are allowed to hold.
