New: human-like robot walking published in Sci Rep: "Passive knee flexion increases forward impulse of the trailing leg during the step-to-step transition" youtu.be/oWwJbTPUOM4?fe… Paper: rdcu.be/ehNx0 Congrats especially to first-author Bernadett @Bernadett_Kiss_!
At my research group at Max Planck Intelligent Systems Stuttgart, we are looking for a summer intern student ('Hiwi') working with Ecowalker robot. Information to via shorturl.at/cSoYG robot youtu.be/oWwJbTPUOM4
#CHI2025
Unitree G1 ran about 13 km in two hours on a livestream - averaging around 1.8 meters/second - with two battery swaps along the way. At that pace, a half-marathon would take roughly 3 hours and 15 minutes.
Tiangong robot won the Beijing half marathon with a time of 2 hours 40 minutes - more than twice the time of the men's race winner. The robot is built by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center.
動画投稿しました💯 BLDCモータ(maxon 4pole)をSimpleFOCで動かしました!想像以上に簡単に動かせて趣味にもブラシレスの時代が来たんだなーとしみじみ思いました 動画リンクはリプ欄に⬇️

Six years ago, I walked into the lair of the tech gods - TED - to warn them democracy may not survive technology. In fact, I was the one who almost didn’t survive. This year I returned & called them data rapists. Complicit in a coup. Collaborators.
🚀Check out our full video of CubiX! A Go1 trapped under rubble is approached by another Go1 equipped with CubiX. Then, four drones take off, attach wires, and the leg of the Go1 transforms into a manipulator to help rescue the other Go1.
OpenArm is a fully open-source robotic arm designed for human manipulation data collection - developed by the Reazon Human Interaction Lab in Japan. V0.2 beta features smoother teleop with gravity compensation and bilateral force feedback. open-arm.org
I'll be giving a short talk and joining a panel discussion at the Embodied Intelligence Conference 2025 (EI2025), which will be held from April 2nd to 4th. The entire event will be held online, so if you're interested, please feel free to join!
Collecting data is a PAAAAAAAIN❗ If only there were a solution out there... (𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻-𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 😱) @JannikGrothusen, researchers and founder in stealth mode 👀 from TU Munich, has created a new tool that helps collect data for robots to learn how to perform tasks. It’s…
Our paper on quiet walking using reinforcement learning for aibo has been accepted to ICRA 2025! Quadruped walking robots are really noisy, aren't they? This is even more concerning for home robots. Let's adjust reinforcement learning to reduce footstep noise!
Check out our #ICRA2025 paper where we train a home robot to walk quietly! Project site: sony.github.io/QuietWalk/ Video: youtube.com/watch?v=6RjkBH… Authors: Ryo Watanabe, Takahiro Miki, Fan Shi, Yuki Kadokawa, Filip Bjelonic, Kento Kawaharazuka, Andrei Cramariuc and Marco Hutter
Great progress! But, absolutely not the world's first musculoskeletal humanoid (bipedal android)!
Protoclone, the world's first bipedal, musculoskeletal android.
We are trying to recreate the fossilized sea turtle (Mesodermochelys), an ancestor of the leatherback sea turtle, in a swimming robot. To do this, we first create a leatherback turtle robot, make it swim, and compare it with the real leatherback sea turtle.
Announcing the rather epic 'Glossary of tetrapod tracks' in Palaeontologia Electronica. Three years of work led by Jens Lallensack, and with Guiseppe Leonardi (author of the original '87 Glossary). We hope it will be useful for anyone working on tracks palaeo-electronica.org/content/2025/5…
Disappointed with your ICLR paper being rejected? Ten years ago today, Sergey and I finished training some of the first end-to-end neutral nets for robot control 🤖 We submitted the paper to RSS on January 23, 2015. It was rejected for being "incremental" and "unlikely to have…
China’s first humanoid training base, established by the National Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, began operations yesterday. “The training base is essentially a factory that produces data,” said Jiang Lei, chief scientist of the innovation center. The 50k sq. ft. training…
