A thread on how Canada can respond to tariffs by cutting the F35A order in half and buying the runner-up F39E to serve as the bulk of Canada's air power over the next 40 years. Using my slides from a previous RCAF Association debate & research from my @policy_school thesis.

This is such a niche issue yet such an important reform. We really can’t make small apartments/flats work between 4-8 storeys without elevator rule reform in Canada. It’s time to legalize small elevators and the European elevator code in Canada.
Opinion: Canada’s outdated elevator rules are adding to the housing crisis theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl…
No to the pause, but sure let’s do a review. Hire Urban3 to compare the cost-benefit of sprawl to the cost-benefit of bike infrastructure. Let’s have a legitimate review, just like McLean says he wants. The only solution to traffic is viable alternatives to driving.

Jeromy is “somebody who is actually interested in solving problems rather than just fuelling the anger machine.” “I’ve learned. I’ve survived. I’ve built teams. Doesn’t mean I’m a flip-flopper, just means I have a working brain.” - @JeromyYYC #yyc #yyccc

While I have long argued that the Gripen proved itself combat capable flying NATO reconnaissance missions over Libya, we might soon see the first shots fired by a Gripen in combat. Thailand’s Gripen-Cs are more advanced than their aging F-16s.
🚨BREAKING: Thailand has sent Swedish-made Gripen fighter jets to bomb Cambodian targets, according to Cambodian military sources.
The NaAC (@AccessArtsCA) is hosting a series of roundtable discussions w #yyccc mayoral candidates, connecting them with leaders from oursector in #yyc. Our first candidate @JeromyYYC led an engaging discussion on how we can build a city that is truly accessible + uplifts all.
Went to the eye doctor for an eye infection (I’ll be fine, thanks for asking). Last time this happened, it was free under AHS. Today, I had a $50 copay. It would have been free if I went to the ER. Why do we incentivize low-income people to use the most expensive healthcare?
Also illegal in Alberta (save for Edmonton’s creative work around). Let’s get it done already Alberta. It’s time to legalize affordable apartments.
NASHVILLE JUST PASSED 6-STORY SINGLE-STAIR REFORM! Nashville officially becomes the third-largest city to legalize single-stair apartment buildings up to six stories, outdoing Austin who recently passed a 5-story code update passed earlier this year. LET'S FREAKIN GO NASHVILLE
The food security argument falls apart if all the workers "need" to be imported (and paid only $0.04 more than the Oct 2025 minimum wage). Should supply managed farms be forced to employ only Canadians (and immigrants with PR)?
I think my absolute favourite thing that happens in Canada is this: When supply managed dairy or chicken farmers hire temporary foreign workers because they need cheap labour to function IN A COMPLETELY CAPTIVE MARKET. Literally, there is NO COMPETITION or imports allowed.
In the name of Sovereignty, we should give an Australian company a federal bailout (in addition to the one they got from the NWT Government earlier this year). Wait, what!?
🚨BREAKING Ekati Mine in NWT abruptly closes this week putting 2500+ people out of work. The result of 10 years of empty promises from Liberal governments in Ottawa. There is no Arctic Sovereignty & Security without a strong Northern economy. Mark Carney, what is your plan?
Dresden. Every building pictured dates from the last twenty years, the result of a 2002 municipal referendum in which the city decisively voted in favour of reconstructing its historic centre.
We needed more Scott during the election. He gets it. He’s already got the Liberal housing minister on the ropes. Well done sir.
Toronto got $471M in housing accelerator funding. The result? ⬆️ 40% increase in homebuilding taxes ⬇️ 58% drop in housing starts. ⬇️ A broken promise on sixplexes. The latest housing minister calls this a success... It’s not. It’s a warning. We need to cut the red tape, lower…
🚨 Alberta has over 1,300 measles cases—and climbing. We can reverse this dangerous trend together. Call 1‑844‑944‑3434 if you’re feeling sick or believe you’ve been exposed. You may also call the measles hotline for help with your vaccination records, booking a shot, or…
Viscount Bennett is a major redevelopment that had its own public consultation. It had a land use amendment process that included a public hearing and vote of council. It had nothing to do with blanket rezoning. It’s apartment towers near transit. Don’t be a gatekeeper.
Taxpayers should not have to resort to sueing the city in order to be heard. As your next Mayor, I am committed to listening, engaging citizen groups, and repealing blanket rezoning for a redo. Will you join me? -Jeff #yyc #yyccc #blanketrezoning #davisonformayor
A nice, small apartment building that’s completely illegal in Alberta due to our building codes. We should make it legal to build these within walking distance of transit.
Lovely design for 12 apartments on the edge of Paris by Dechelette Architecture Simple plan, but with lots of access to light and ventilation. Will also use 90% recycled bricks!
