John Thompson is speaking now. He came home after 37 years in prison when the Supreme Court ruled it’s unconstitutional to mandate DBI for minors. He says “every major religion has a tent for forgiveness.”

Black people are disporportionately affected by this draconian legal rule. While Black people make up 12.4% of the overrall population in PA, 70% of people sentenced to DBI due to the felony murder rule are Black.

This is definitely a collective effort involving many people especially co-collaborators Terrell Carter and Ghani Songster and orgs like @AbolitionistLC @AmistadLaw @theCCR but I feel lucky to be a part of it!

Leonard Peltier is granted clemency! He’s out of prison and commuted to home confinement. This is a huge win for grassroots Indigenous movements who kept his campaign alive and a moral indictment on the system and people who kept him unjustly imprisoned for half a century.

THANK YOU. It took the world to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
