A very powerful and shapeshifting sidewinder tornado outside of Arnett, Oklahoma yesterday. Definitely the best tornado I have ever seen, and very fortunate to have no fatalities with this one. #okwx
One of the worst looks I have seen in late July in quite some time for the American West. Really hoping next week is better.

Record dry airmass over AZ this morning, with only 0.22" PW (less then a third of the normal ~0.85"). As a matter of fact, this is the driest for the entire period from Jul 17 - Aug 6th. Unfortunately, monsoon moisture is a week or so away...enjoy the sun my friends.
Intense fire still rages on the north rim of the Grand Canyon as viewed from Wupatki. Winds are dry and southwesterly at around 30mph. Not very good. #azwx

While a forecast like this is somewhat of a bleak look, less rain does not always equal less storms (though of course they’re correlated). I got one of my best monsoon shots in a pattern like this last year, so don’t write anything off yet!!! #azwx

Yesterday monsoon really reared its head in southern Arizona as most areas got much needed rainfall. I chased this storm south of Eloy before it merged with a larger one that produced a dust storm that eventually made it into Phoenix late at night. #azwx
