What is described in this article is absolutely not Spiritual Direction. Directors will vary, but I would set the boundaries like those of a therapist. It’s very concerning that people think they can get away with this. It dishonours the ministry.
Can a spiritual director have a "consensual" relationship? pillarcatholic.com/p/discretion-n…
I'm sure it's not the intention of this post, but the expression "hurt people hurt people" is incredibly damaging. I've spoken with several survivors, who just like me, stayed quiet about our abuse for much longer because we feared being labelled as someone who would…
The Feast of St James, Apostle today 😇🥳 His shrine is the focal point of the popular pilgrimage of Santiago de Compostela St James, pray for us 🙏
Servant leadership is rooted in the Gospel. Jesus gently lets down the ambition of the mother of James and John for her sons. It’s about loving service, not status and lording it over others. Servant leaders can still run organisations, but with humility. Matthew 20:20-28
Love this 16th-century statue of St James as a pilgrim at Santiago's Pilgrim Museum. 📷2024 #pilgrimage #StJamesDay
Happy feast day of St James! 😇 Images from the cathedral at Santiago: St James's shrine in the crypt and his statue above the high altar. Hugging the statue is a centuries-old tradition.
Last run around for this. Salve.
Mangled some of the words … but anyway. Salve.
Re: the idea that empathy or compassion is bad or even "toxic," a belief held by some Christians today. There is problem with that belief, and that problem comes from Jesus himself. Over and over in the Gospels, an important word is used to describe what Jesus feels whenever…
Art has the power to change how we feel. How we feel defines how we behave and treat others.
On Sunday, June 29, Via della Conciliazione bloomed for the historic 'Infiorata Storica', a floral art festival dating back to 1625. This year’s Jubilee of Hope theme drew artists from across Italy and thousands of pilgrims to St. Peter’s Square. 🌸

Happy Feast Day of Mary Magdalene!! “Mary Magdalene turned around and saw Jesus there, but she did not know it was Jesus…supposing him to be the gardener.” –John 20:14, 15 Mary Magdalene is the first person to encounter the risen Christ. It’s no accident that the gospel…

O God, who guided Saint Bridget of Sweden along different paths of life and wondrously taught her the wisdom of the Cross as she contemplated the Passion of your Son, grant us, we pray, that, walking worthily in our vocation, we may seek you in all things.
My mother lives in London but doesn’t want to apply for the payment. 1. It doesn’t reflect her experience and 2. She doesn’t feel like it’s an apology if she has to sign a waiver. Her baby born healthy died, it was the most horrendous time of her life followed by suicide attempts
“It’s sensical”. My good friend Siobhan backing Philomena’s Law with the best explainer. Proud to be leading this cross-party campaign to deliver justice for more than 13,000 survivors of Ireland’s Mother & Baby Homes living in Britain. It’s within our gift to make it happen.
This is outrageous misogyny. I and so many others have repeatedly reported this account. I know several gifted teachers who have children and careers and are making a success of both. This individual admits in this post she is not as capable or gifted as the catholic teachers I…
No, it’s not! I was a teacher, and I gave all of my strength and time to my job. I had none left for my family. Women were not created for the workforce! We get twice as many stress related diseases as men.
Based on our interactions and first hand observations, if these people think the culture in US seminaries is healthy and in a "golden age", then this really is terrifying.
US Catholic Seminaries Said to Be in a ‘Golden Age’ Seminaries are at the healthiest point they have been in for decades in terms of culture and quality of priestly formation, experts say.⤵️ hubs.la/Q03x-8s10
We have a new puppy. Introducing "Peach Daphne". (The kids wanted to call her Peach. I wanted to name her after one of my favourite art teachers). Family is about compromise. @BirgitteUna @BDevlin1 @MrWillRoss @disillusioned66
