Last Sunday in July: Reek Sunday/Garland Sunday/Domhnach na Cruaiche. Pilgrims climb Croagh Patrick, #Mayo! Some barefoot! In honour of St Patrick; 441 spent 40 days fasting there! 15,000-30,000 people! Mass at summit. Archbishop of Tuam leads 2 hour climb. 1 1/2 hour walk down!

Sea pilgrimage to liminal Llanddwyn Island on Anglesey 🏴 - hermitage of St Dwynwen d c. 460, she became the saint for lovers - ruins of 12C monastic pilgrimage church (16C windows?) - lighthouses & pilots’ cottages - stunning views of Llyn Peninsula, & - greeted by a harpist!
