AP News Guild
@APNewsGuild
We're the union representing journalists, technicians and other professionals at the @AP. One part of the @NewsMediaGuild. #WeAreAP
Quality journalism means fair working conditions for the men and women who cover the news. We stand in solidarity with our @NewsMediaGuild colleagues
#NEW: The EFE staff in the United States will not be working tomorrow, July 10, in protest of the disappointing salary proposal the company has presented during our collective bargaining negotiations.
We’re negotiating our contract with @EFEnoticias — and it’s long overdue. Cost of living in the US is up 58.9% since 2006. Our wages? Just 19.9%. We’re falling behind. 🧵
We stand in solidarity with workers hit by Oxford University Press outsourcing work. These workers help make top academic publications. Please sign the petition !
Please take a moment to sign our petition protesting the decision of @OUPAcademic to layoff 13 BU staff members. REVERSE THIS DECISION, RESTORE OUR JOBS, and RESPECT THE CONTRACT YOU JUST SIGNED. @NewsMediaGuild @UniofOxford #OUPIsUnionStrong actionnetwork.org/petitions/oup-…
Supporting our Guild colleagues for a fair contract. Solidarity!
STRIKE ALERT, @law360 and @LexisNexis: We have been saying for months that we were strike-ready. Today we’re proving it. We are on a ULP strike. Read more here. #verdictisin #Law360Strike
Fantastic news and your colleagues at @NewsMediaGuild are thrilled for you. Solidarity!
We have some exciting news to share: We have a deal!! More than two years after our union was recognized, we’ve finally come to a tentative agreement with the Financial Times and will put it to our members for a vote.
We are celebrating Labor Day by announcing that a supermajority of our over-600 person union signed a pledge of support for a strike. We have scheduled a strike authorization vote 🗳️ 🪧
We’re still on strike this Labor Day at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette!
Congrats to our new sisters and brothers in our union, the @NewsMediaGuild. What a great tribute to your solidarity.
The OUP USA Guild is proud to announce that it has signed our first contract with @OxUniPress! This is a landmark day in the 500 year history of the Press and for the labor movement. Read along for a list of some of our wins! (1/x)
We are thrilled colleagues at Oxford University Press have a tentative FIRST CONTRACT! Welcome to our @newsmediaguild and @newsguild family. It's a big deal, being labor pioneers in the academic publishing industry. Go @oupusaguild ! Details: newsmediaguild.org/2024/07/26/dea…
After more than 19 months of bargaining, the @APNewsGuild has reached an agreement with @AP on a three-year deal.

Happy to announce that after more than 19 months of bargaining, the @APNewsGuild has reached an agreement with @AP on a three-year deal.
Screaming. Crying. Throwing up. We have a tentative deal.
Happy Festivus! It’s been a Feat of Strength to endure this long wait for a #fairAPcontract

Happy Festivus! Gather round and hear how AP has disappointed us with an awful wage offer. #fairAPcontract

We were insulted by @AP's first offer — a 2% raise over 3 years. We have a new offer, and we're no less frustrated: it includes at most a 2.5% raise and a $2,000 check. We can't be bought with a bonus. We demand a fair wage. More than 200 of us told our managers this today.
Today, we're reminding @AP's top managers that staff are eager to focus on the important news of 2024 with a contract that gives us fair pay. But their current proposal doesn’t – not even close. Here's what the Guild members have to say to AP leadership 👇
#NewProfilePic Will return to the Vandals logo once @AP moves off its insulting salary offer and gives its hard-working, dedicated, loyal and deeply experienced employees the fair contract we deserve. @APNewsGuild
More than 200 fed-up @AP employees who work hard to make the AP the sterling news information service it is sent emails to Scrooge-like top managers to tell them RTFW. Inflation has been 19% since our last contract, offering us 2% raises in return is bad math. @JuliePace
