Today I was at Pista Sa Nayon, a wonderful annual celebration that brings together Filipinos and friends from across Montreal to honour Filipino heritage and culture. Thanks so much to the FAMAS board for organizing the event.

Facing a shifting trade landscape, the premiers and I are focused on what we can control — working together to get major projects off the ground, break down trade barriers, and build a stronger Canadian economy.
Today, I’ll be meeting with the premiers in Huntsville to talk about building up our industries and getting big, nation-building projects off the ground. Together, we’re moving from reliance to resilience, and building one strong, Canadian economy.
Stopped by the Great Canadian Cookout today — such a fun event and a great way to connect with the community. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen!

One year ago today I joined @DeborahLyonsSE & Parliamentarians from across the world in Buenos Aires to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the bombing of the AMIA, the Jewish federation building. An Argentine court recognized Iran directed this attack killing 85 people.

Working with @DeborahLyonsSE over the last two years has been an incredible experience. We have faced far too many challenges in tackling antisemitism domestically & internationally but nobody could have worked harder or done a better job than Deborah. Thank you Deborah.
It is with a heavy heart that I announce my retirement from the position of Special Envoy on Preserving Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism. A position that I loved dearly but brought forth so many challenges, some deep disappointments, but in the end, some real…
The trade landscape has shifted, and it’s time to transform Canada’s steel industry to meet this moment. So, we’re going to restrict and reduce foreign steel imports, and prioritize Canadian steel as we build major projects and homes across the country. To meet this growing…
Thanks to @globeandmail and reporter @StephanieLevitz for highlighting the report the SE Office office commissioned after repeated concerns brought to us by concerned parents. Children go to school to learn, not to be targets of hate and harassment. Jewish children, as all…
Throughout the current trade negotiations with the United States, the Canadian government has steadfastly defended our workers and businesses. We will continue to do so as we work towards the revised deadline of August 1. Canada has made vital progress to stop the scourge…
It was a pleasure to speak with the CSLMC this morning. Always great discussion and questions.

There is nothing like celebrating Canada Day in @CoteSaintLuc . So great to join @mbrownsteincsl and Council and so many proud Canadians.

Happy Canada Day! Let’s be unapologetically and proudly Canadian! Bonne fête du Canada! Soyons toujours fiers d’être Canadiens!

We mourn the loss of Karen Diamond z”l, 81, who succumbed June 25 to the severe burn injuries she sustained in the June 1 Molotov cocktail assault on a peaceful "Run for their Lives" community walk in Boulder, Colorado to raise awareness about the remaining Israeli hostages…
The FIFA World Cup is coming to Canada. Summer 2026. Toronto and Vancouver. Be there.
This is a good decision by the United States. The incitement by Bob Vylan and his band at Glastonbury have no place in North America. I have been in touch with the Minister of Public Safety and believe that Mr. Vylan’s actions should render him inadmissible to Canada.
The @StateDept has revoked the US visas for the members of the Bob Vylan band in light of their hateful tirade at Glastonbury, including leading the crowd in death chants. Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country.
It was an honour to join former TMR Town Councillor, exemplary community volunteer and pillar of the Vietnamese Canadian community Mien-Diem-Le Thi at the Russell in TMR this evening to present her with the King Charles Medal. Thank you Minh for all you do for the community.

Canada’s new government is rebuilding, rearming, and reinvesting in our Armed Forces. To ensure they have the equipment they need, we’re building up our defence industries, creating more fulfilling, high-paying careers for Canadians.
While it’s encouraging to see that the police investigation into the incident at the National Holocaust Monument has progressed, I’m very disturbed to learn that the person charged is a city employee who was on leave. As a community and as an employer, the actions at the Monument…
The One Canadian Economy Act has received Royal Assent. With it, we’ll break down more barriers to internal trade and build big things faster across the country. Thanks to all the Members of Parliament and Senators — from all parties — who got this done, together.
