I have dreamed about this essay for 5 years! I finally wrote it down as I completed 15 years in the city this week. My love-hate letter to Mumbai 💚

What a beautiful touching love letter to my fav city in the world. I have so many memories of unsolicited kindness, given by those who have nothing. Flawed for sure, but my heart yearns to go back. If anyone is hiring product/strategy leadership there, ping me!

A great read on the city I love. Coincidentally today happens to be the 20th anniversary of the worst floods we experienced. The day the term "Spirit of Mumbai" was popularized in media.

This is easily the most creative essay I have recently read on Mumbai, especially bcoz of the Hurt Locker reference. Truly a great analogy for the appeal & addiction of Mumbai's hustle.

"To me, Mumbai continues to offer pain, and Mumbaikars continue to offer reconciliation." One of the best articulation of love hate relationship with Mumbai; take some time out and read the whole piece!

Next month will mark 14 years since I left Mumbai, the city I grew up in, so I enjoyed reading this take from @ABiggerSpalash, who moved there 15 years ago. Maybe you will, too: open.substack.com/pub/palashk/p/…

The cultural pendulumn is right in the middle, nothing too extreme. But it is on its way to become hyper-masculinized after being hyper-feminized for years. Expect many Sydney Sweeneys to be thrown in our faces, till we all get bored and start talking about Body Positivity…

Say what is deeply felt by you in the exact same way you say it to yourself. It will be interesting to everyone, it has to be.
Most people have interesting thoughts, but they keep doubting themselves if they have anything worthy to say. So they never say anything and hence never get any feedback whether they are interesting or not. So speak away, my dear stranger.
Thinking of starting a movie club -Intimate screenings with a small group, followed by discussion & games -Curated selection of movies by a theme maybe -Films across genres - Indie, mainstream, arthouse. Want to keep it stimulating yet accessible Near HSR/Haralur RT for karma
MAMI was a dream too good to be true. Been attending since 2016 - would take vacation from work to attend morning to night, all 7 days. Everyday one had to wake up early to book slots at 8:30, then plan the day meticulously, as it meant running from one PVR to another to watch…
