Recent news in evang. academic theology will lead to many opinions about the merits of “retrieval” in theology. False dichotomies and simplistic narratives already abound. Below, a few brief thoughts on the promise and peril of retrieval for evangelicals, especially Baptists.
Put together a mind-map to track with @Petty_France's helpful distinctions from the OP below. Keeping these categories in place is crucial for a proper hermeneutic and theological method so as to not merely/wrongly infer natural principles have necessary covenantal conclusions.
