slinging metal @noxmetals (YC S25) | manufacture the future
we need to start paying attention right now to the entire supply chain of reindustrialization when machining gets cheaper and faster in the next 2-4 years we will also need the same efficiencies in the rest of the chain inputting into these factories making end parts/products:…
Most shops can track a spindle in real-time, but not a $20,000 steel order Materials: the most expensive blind spot in manufacturing
POV you run a factory in 2025 (it works still)
*entrepreneurs in the 80s* There’s $100 million dollars in my landline and it’s my job to get it out
Tons of funding and excitement going into reindustrialization (which I love!) but reality is most startups default to selling to defense/aerospace (where $$ is), but these are actually already onshore by necessity...so it's more of expanding/improving capacity vs. bringing it…
Don’t be a stranger. Shoot me or Zane a message and we’ll get material to your shop faster than you can say “United States of America”
HEY MACHINISTS: DM ME YOUR METAL NEEDS. We got into YC to blow up slow, overpriced metal supply for people who machine parts. Let us speedrun your metals supply so you can focus on making parts. Every factory I know waits days for quotes and overpays for blocks and plates.…

thanks y'all for 20k followers started posting ~1 year ago with 60 followers i love this app, specifically the manufacturing posts and people

Material price spikes wipe out 10-20% of profit margins overnight. There’s more financial risk in metal sourcing than most shops realize.
can't believe i found this just now randomly in my insta feed this dude took a take on Nox Metals (and all YC co's) and tier ranked us. thanks @brycent_ ! pretty cool
the biggest manufacturing companies i know started with one machine and a dream no funds, no business plans, just pure hustle one guy told me "i saved up for a CNC then opened up yellow pages and started dialing all the local factories to help with overflow work" but if we…
sunday is for cold reach out to factories across the midwest
sunday is for hiring a software engineer for the factory
how to factory: >buy used machine >buy materials >cut metal >blast alice in chains >hang american flag >stick SWE on shop floor >invite customers in
sunday is for hiring a software engineer for the factory
i think a false belief for manufacturing is that it takes too much capital to get started you can build a solid MVP with one technical talent, a machine, and a bit of floor space the used market for machinery is vast and highly discounted
why does no one build manufacturing startups? mainly because they have never been in a factory
manufacturing startups have little to none competition it’s wild to me that literally zero people are doing what we are doing (same with a lot of others) it’s so early, but so important to start now and if you look at any software startup, you’ll see like 30+ of the same…
