Back to the AE after 4 week break. Strangely, I missed the adrenaline rush. Hoping for an exhilarating weekend!

Clinical Officers in Kenya now have a potential pathway into the NHS as Physician Associates, though the certification/assessment process remains unclear. With ongoing NHS underfunding and even GMC-licensed doctors struggling to find jobs, the outlook for PAs may be just as…
Sometimes getting patients accepted by specialties after stabilizing them in the ED can be frustrating—and risky. When things get stuck, I find the CUSS tool quite helpful: generic example 👇🏾 C – I’m Concerned with the patient U – I’m Uncomfortable with your plan S – This isn’t…
Eastleigh is flooded with substandard, profit-driven ‘hospitals’ lacking proper personnel and equipment. They’ve built an exclusive network, exploiting NHIF (now SHA) through fraudulent approvals and making millions. The Health Minister must act—start with Eastleigh, from dental…
Praying for my lad TL elder. He has been active in the good fight, amplifying and advocating for release of abducted patriots. It’s our time to amplify #FreeMwambiliMwagodi

The push by health CS threatening healthcare workers if patients share bed is dangerous. Start by building hospitals, not headlines. Mama Lucy serves over 2M people with just 66 maternity beds. Fix that before flexing on microphones.
Note to colleagues: D-dimer is quite nonspecific—always pair with Doppler, even if DVT is likely (Wells >2). If D-dimer is positive but scan is negative, stop therapeutic anticoagulation and repeat scan in 6–8 days. (NICE)
Forcing interns or residents to arrive early for pre-rounds before the consultant’s ward round is a toxic culture, often encouraged by senior doctors. Coming in early or staying late to impress shouldn’t be the norm. Workplace toxicity threatens both patient safety and care…
Medics, Please ensure all patients you put on lower limb casts including Achilles tendon rupture are assessed for clotting risk and adequately covered with blood thinners!!!
You’d think they’d try to hide it. But no—they’re proudly announcing it. Telling us, that they’re ready to rig, if that’s what it takes to “defend the regime.” IDs issuance to refugees in Daadab, Ifo and hagardera is on steroids. Number One would rather rule the ruins than lose…
North Eastern leaders will rig 2027 polls for Ruto, Wajir Woman Rep Fatuma Jehow says tnx.africa/politics/artic…
Spent the whole morning cleaning the fridge. Never again shall I procrastinate regular fridge cleaning. It’s easily the hardest job in the kitchen.
Blue sky sunny weekend. Bad day to be working. The more I progress in this career the more I realise that it is indeed a calling. Bon fin de semaine!

Brought some of my colleagues dashiki tops and ninjas are wearing it at work as scrubs. Now the whole department wants it. Ka deal kameivana ivo tu.
Walk into any Level 5 public hospital medical ward—or a major NBU where newborns are sharing incubators—before making uninformed statements. Invest in public healthcare first, then speak.
This government has totally lost the communication/online war. Loss after loss, beautiful scenes.
Murkomeno made the shoot to kill order. Many innocent people have been killed today.Police dragging dead bodies on the ground. Murkomeno MUST GO and be jailed !
I love listening to medical advice from non-medics. Some sound like they’ve cured cancer with coconut oil. Others are confidently wrong with full chest. A few actually make sense. But they all explain it better than most doctors; who talk like they’re billing you per syllable.
Left for Kenya to mark Independence Day in June. Came back and found my backyard leading a coup of its own. 🌾 Weeds bigger than Kasongo’s ego. Even the grass formed a union. Small price to pay though.
We didn’t manage this June, but we were this close 🤏. Until next time, we keep hope alive. Meanwhile, Naskia kako London.

Strolling through Nairobi CBD… Sad reminders at every turn. They’re gone, but never forgotten.
