On my blog now, a piece from ‘The Scotsman’ in which I discuss whether 16 and 17 year olds should have the vote: ahouseinjoppa.wordpress.com/2025/07/23/can…
What is a ‘facilitated reflective practice discussion’? What is HAPPENING in Scotland that publicly funded bodies, without irony, can dispense this shite? (I mean, sorry but…)
‘The no 26 service to Seton Sands stopped at 08.17 at the Kings Road bus stop, did not open its doors and failed to pick up any of the five passengers who were waiting. The next service follows in 15 minutes. Is there an explanation for this? ‘ My message to Lothian buses!
This sounds exactly like the speech of a well-meaning but not very clever 14 year old in a school mock election.
Plenty of people are working harder and harder but their lives aren't getting any better. The super-rich have rigged the system in their own favour. I want to end that and transform Scotland into the fairer, greener nation we know it can be. thenational.scot/news/25304169.…
My goodness. We have found the origin of the phrase ‘Butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth’. Nothing, of course, is going to change at all.

1/2 CfE was initially a Scottish Labour initiative but SNP took it & pushed it into schools with a big green folders but with no guidance, resources or extra staffing. As a result, LAs & schools spent many yrs reinventing the wheel; re-packing & unpacking the woolly E's & O's.
Scotland led UK education once - now, after 17 years of @theSNP , we’re average at best. Since 2006, PISA scores have dropped a staggering 73 points (maths, science & reading) - that’s nearly three years of learning lost. Maths alone fell 35 points (506→471) by 2022 - about…
Ross Greer vs The Super Rich. There can only be one winner!
Ah Corbyn will now see Zarah Sultana as his raisin d’etre…
Who IS Pedro Pascal? Is there a reason why I should care what he thinks about ANYTHING?
I’ve just been blocked by ‘Lady J of Tay’ for suggesting that Scottish schools were better in the past than now. Her last message was ‘Stay deluded’. The irony!!!
These stupid remarks by Boy George about how little girls and little boys should behave remind me of the deepest homophobias of the 1960’s.
