Hirokazu Kore-eda's 1996 documentary, 'Without Memory' reminded me how the memories of our past shape our idea of self and how uncompromising love holds that mould of us in place even when we forget who we are as there are others who remember you and your life.

thank you @internetarchive for carrying 'Without Memory' (1996) by Hirokazu Kore-eda. archive.org/details/withou…
why do the words 'undertone' and 'overtone' figuratively imply the same thing but exist as two separate words? i do not know but i think it's splendid of language to be excessive in its qualities rather than too slight. i love you, synonyms. what would writers do without you?

If you only recently recognized that it is a genocide the appropriate response is not to insist that it has only recently become a genocide but to spend the rest of your life atoning for your failure of perception and compassion
my hostel room walls are as old as the halls of erebor with none of the dwarvish beauty. and the only gold in near proximity is the little rectangular slab of evening light that i exploit for taking pictures of my books.

you have to understand that 'His Dark Materials' at 12 was everything 23 year old me still searches for in fantasies broaching the question of god. never before seen and never after replicated levels of blasphemy.

would highly recommend 'His Dark Materials' by Philip Pullman to anyone of any age. it is technically regarded as YA but i will entice you with this neat little controversy it caused.

this is so beautiful
real lagang is limited and expensive and outside of cebu i think tagalogs are the most enthusiastic abt it these days lol. there's some production of "faux lagang" in some tagalog provinces from what ive observed and i rlly like the variety in material from paper to capiz shells
I'm not sure that people realize how abnormal it is for journalists to be killed in wars. More have been killed in Gaza (232) than in the Civil War, World Wars I and II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War (+Cambodia and Laos), the Yugoslav wars, and the Afghanistan war, combined.
Breaking: An Israeli airstrike just killed Adam Yahya Abu Harbid, a cameraman for Al-Quds Al-Youm channel, along with all members of his family, after targeting their tent in Al-Yarmouk market in Gaza City.
i have three little notebooks called 'Notes' and i scribble my thoughts and things into them all day long and it keeps me alive and mysterious

“interpreters and translators” at number one is a laugh if you know anything about languages
